Hains: (Yet Another) New Dawn
Martin St-Louis was introduced today as the Canadiens new interim head coach. - Karine Hains
Not sure if St-Louis had a hand in this , he did ride shotgun as an assistant for a brief period with Torts during the Cbj playoff run in 2019, he was part of that staff that swept the mighty lightning in 4 games ....

this is really smart Pat. maybe i should do the same, but it's really diffcult.
let me ask you this. when is the last time a NHL team hired a headcoach with 0 coaching experience? none what so ever. and how did that end? - fidopro
oh I wouldn't bet my house on everything working out for STL and the team, I'm aware that a good hockey player doesn't equate to a good coach, but it isn't impossible for him to have success either.

He’s saying the right things, we’ll see if he can walk the walk though. I’m thinking he deserves a fair shot |

Lots of people answer gun to their head questions that way...or if they want to avoid an answer they dislike for the purpose of discussion

Well… you seem awfully mad or at least certain its a terrible thing...so I think he just trying to walk away slowly… ( he a Smarter man than I am)
I feel we are missing a part of the equation, did Martin refuse to sign your Martin St louis poster one day ? |

Au moins St-Louis était encore impliqué dans le hockey
Mario Tremblay, ça faisait dix ans qu'il donnait des "Bleuets flétris" à la Soirée du Hockey |

MSL is not the problem.
A coach with no professional coaching experience is the problem.
And I think that is a fair concern to have, especially in this media market.

My replies aren't working for whatever reason but yes experience is one. The whole being captain and quitting on his team and being a dogpoop leader despite the BS narrative is getting ignored greatly and is another issue I have. He was captain. He quit on his team because his feelings were hurt. That happened from this "great leader". Can't imagine Weber doing something like that
Edit: and Leo I'm not mad at pat. If anything I appreciate that he and I can disagree without getting into insults or taking personal offense that we don't agree on something. Only thing I'm not happy about is the potential change from interim coach to full time coach moving forward |

I'm actually surprised it hasn't brought any outside trolls to swat at. I think it's that the Habs have become so bad they're almost untrollable...they just are and that's trolling enough |

He was recently the world's most powerful man. The Habs recently got completely outplayed and lost 7-1 to the Devils. Not exactly apples to apples |

but we all agree on that and I think we all know they are giving him the job to plug a hole, wave something shiny so we forget the horrendous season and for him to evaluate the players
And if by any miracle he very good at it, you confirm him and say it was the plan all along
while the real plan is for him to be an assistant next year, thus while I feel there no harm in hiring him.
Also, You can't loose 7-1 to Devils with their 5 th goaler and missign a few important guys, after a week off... |

They were a Stanley cup finalists as not that great a team, and the following season are gettign their ass handed to them, and now the laughing stock of the nhl.
He became a president that lost the popular vote, and then got his ass kicked the following season to become the true laughing stock he really is...
There are some analogous parallels.
