On a different subject; let's project and say the CBJ keep it's head above water the next ten days or so, and a playoff spot might be possible (note: the CBJ plays Boston 3 times before the end of the season).
Suddenly our 1st round pick becomes a mid-round and not a top ten pick. It seems reasonable to me the GMJK should package Domi and the pick to get someone who can help us on the back end, or even to score. I wouldn't want a a rental, and it might be that there are some people out there worth going after that fits into the future as well as this season.
Since we have cap room and quite possibly a top-ten pick thanks to Chicago, I suggest that the CBJ try to find a way to be a buyer, not a seller only, at the deadline.
