I know most won’t agree but I would jettisone more players then I would keep. Too many of these guys simply didn’t show up this season. You can blame Covid or the road trip but when it comes down to it the players not performing was the REAL problem. |

What’s next? Trotz in or out?
Does Lou fix this with a sale, holding on to salaries?
Then Barzal, with one year left, does this turn into a saga?
Stay tuned, watch with your eyes closed.

That's the truth.
There are people that blame early long road trip/injuries/Covid/NHL, which some of that combination did have a factor, but at the end of the day they didn't perform. Too many turn overs, too many missed opportunities, not nearly enough goal scoring, piss-poor power play, coasting players. The list goes on and on. And that's performance. Like you said. |

I definitely would not get rid of Trotz. One bad season does not put him on the hot seat for me.
I think there will be several guys traded at or before the deadline. Chara, Varly and maybe Beau I think could be traded. I think Lou will hang on to Greene, which is fine. He's a serviceable defenseman and doesn't make any more mistakes than anyone else.
Personally, I don't bring back Chara, Parise, & Greene. Move Clutz, Varly, Martin Maybe even Beau, Bailey. I would really like to keep the core D of Pelech, Pulock, Dobson & Mayfield. Salo & Aho look like they may be close to being in the show full time. So if one of those 2 can step up, then we need a good puck moving D-man.
Bellows is looking a little more comfortable out there, hopefully he starts to put it together. If Wally can play within the framework and build on this season, then that's 2 guys that can put in a few goals. Add a true sniper that can consistently hang ~30-40 goals a year and I think we're back on track.
Fire away, I'm ready. |

Yep. I would rather do it right then try to shorten the time frame imo. I would start with the best fourth line in hockey. If Lameriello resigns clutterbuck I’ll join the Twitter mob. |

100%, they head plenty of time to get back in it in early January when players were coming back with as many as 8 games in hand on many teams. At that point other teams started to go through their own covid issues. They failed to regroup. You would think with SO MANY VETS on this team they would have been mature enough to realize this and get their sh!t toghether. Can make up many excuses but at the ed of the day they failed. We'll see what Lou does to right the ship. At this point I have a core of about 8-10 players I'd keep... |

I actually think the team is currently built very well for the playoffs. Playoff hockey is much tighter, harder checking, clutching/grabbing/interference isn't called as much, which helps slow down the much faster teams and we gain the advantage from that. The problem is regular season when we play teams like the Avs that are fast as sh!t and we aren't playing in the playoff zone yet. I think the thing to do is add speed before next season, get in a playoff position and add the toughness and cagey vets at the deadline. Or do what the bolts do and IR a guy or two that miraculously comes back right after the deadline |

Trade Chara and Varly for certain. There will be a market for them.
Trade Clutterbuck. He’s exactly the sort of guy that playoff teams covet.
Advertise Bailey. Might get a bite. Might not.
Keep Beauvillier. He’s inconsistent, but fast. We need his speed.
Trade Parise and Greene if they both wanna go. If not, then extend for another year at low cost.
Trade Aho. He’s not in the long term plans.
Call up Salo. Give him, Bellows and Wahlstrom the minutes usually reserved for vets. It’ll give them an opportunity to learn, and chastise those who slacked ass up until this point. |

Not sure what Bailey would fetch, if anything.
If you re-sign Greene another year and call up Salo, then you're still missing a top 4, puck-moving defenseman. That is a position of need. Not to mention he'd be another year older.
As for Tito, I'm fine with keeping him, but if we could get a prospect and a pick, then I'd be willing to consider a trade. |

I agree with most only thing I would absolutely keep Parise unless he was adamant about leaving. The new PPP line is the new identity line IMO. |

I trade all UFAs, even Parise. You'd be doing him a favor, trading him to a contending team. He can always be re-signed in the off season.
I listen to offers on EVERYONE. If another team is willing to overpay enough, I trade anyone, even a Barzal..........but the key phrase is "overpay enough".... Bailey might require 2 bags of pucks. |

For Bailey, I think a bag of used pucks and a half eaten Snickers gets the deal done.
And I like Parise. He's the only one that busts his ass every single shift. Just wish he got rewarded more for his effort. |

Greene as a #7 is fine but other then that(and we know he’ll be overused) he’s not what we need imo. Expecting too much from over the hill players is exactly what’s wrong with this team. Have to stop doing the same thing and expecting a different result. Make a play for a top 4 puck mover. Time to move on from Greene it was fun while it lasted but his game will drop off a cliff like it did last playoffs and we’ll be stuck with him instead of investing in a viable replacement imo. |
