When are we going to find out what is factually wrong with Ryan Ellis?
Sitting out a whole damned season essentially makes me think he is toast and should fricking retire...or maybe he and his wife dont like it here?
Do they shut up like this when the player is in some type of rehab not associated with a physical injury? |

He has a core muscle -- hip/groin has been the unofficial word for months but never stated publicly -- injury for which they've tried to avoid surgery. The issue hasn't responded to a variety of different non-invasive treatments. Ellis himself preferred this route on the hopes of playing this season. That much is public.
When he's officially shut down for the season and surgery is scheduled -- that's inevitable at this point and has probably been inevitable for quite some time -- there will be more information given publicly.
Side note: It is uncertain if the infection that Hayes' suffered -- which spread throughout his groin and down his leg -- was related to his surgery last May but's believed that it might have been related. Surgery is not without risk, either. |

At what point will surgery hinder his ability to be ready for next season? |

If he has the surgery in March, he should be fully rehabbed and ready for Day 1 of camp in September. Ellis has had a variety of injuries in his career, as everyone knows, but this season is the first time he's ever had this particular issue. |

Reposting from the last blog:
Hey Bill, since the Florida rumors are ramping up lately, is there any preclusion to the Panthers dealing their 2023 first rounder since it's tied to conditions from the 2022 pick in the Reinhart trade? I think it's obvious to anyone that the pick won't be in the top 10 this year, but I was wondering if they would have to wait until those conditions are met to trade the other one. |

So just more Flyers luck. If this trend continues the Flyers will win the lottery, select Shane Wright and before training camp a toddler will kick him in the nuts on accident where he will have to rehab his nuggets for the next 6 years. |

Thank you Bill.
3 key "older" players with core muscle problems...Brassard too??
Connect the dots back to the former coaches drills...
I used to help engineers design air distribution systems for OR's amongst other things. I am painfully aware of how infection can occur in surgeries and will spare everyone the technical details of how the bacteria is transmitted in those rooms, it is very surprising.

hopefully he gets surgery in the summer then delays his training camp. Amazing this has not been done already.
Maybe there is just more to it in terms of Ellis not happy...

Real hockey? come on it is not strong at all. Low level AA at best. Hard on the eyes.
Some teams have some very good players, other than that not much.

Tune in for the semis and finals. The top AA teams are as good as most AAA teams. Saw Pennridge AA beat Holy Ghost Prep AAA this year. Great hockey kids work hard and very entertaining. AA SHSHL finals was better then any Flyers game I have seen in years. To each his own but I find it great hockey |

The team is 9-50 with Mayhew in the lineup and 3-119 when he is scratched
so there is that |

2025ish.
Any chance at all that the Flyers would deal Giroux to your most hated rivals? I would enjoy seeing him with NY. Always been a Giroux fan, touching the police officer notwithstanding. |
