Adam Lowry....... lots of -ve posts on this board and I will agree that his offence or lack of was one of the blackholes that was identified and discussed.
I had a tendency to overlook the -ve discussion as his FO stats, hits, D zone FO starts showed that he was very valuable despite the lack of prod'n.
Now, not to jump on the prod'n bandwagon as obviously he has "picked" it up lately, but one thing I have noticed particularly this year is that he is faster or quicker then he ever use to be. This is only eye test but he can outskate opposition now where he never did that before.
He must have been consistently working on his skating quickness as he is just plain simply faster or quicker today then he was in the past. Just mop.

I also agree that Lowry has gotten better and faster every year. Definitely been working on his speed. He can be a very valuable player in a playoff environment. The Jets getting to the playoffs is another story. We are essentially chasing down Dallas as the Oilers look like they might be a lock for the third spot in the West.
The Jets need to likely get 30 of the next 42 points to make a wildcard spot. That means they cant lose more than 6 games. They play the top 4 or 5 teams in the NHL all in a row plus Avalanche twice. They would likely need at least a split on those six games to have a chance because they are likely to lose at least three others of the remaining 15. The odds are definitely not good unless the Dallas Stars go into a funk. |

What about Logan Stanley?
He is slowly turning into the player that I have always envisioned him being! |

Lowry is still a great 4th line hockey player. Good for him for scoring on the PK and I think this is the first year that he is doing that. His 5v5 scoring is still abysmal.
Casting him in the 3rd line role is still a mistake.

Some thoughts:
98 points is almost certainly enough to make the playoffs. http://www.sportsclubstat...ern/Central/Winnipeg.html
Jets need 28 points over the rest of the season. The bad news is that the preds, wild and stars have games in hand and the jets don't play them again. Jets have a game in hand vs Vegas and 2 in hand vs Ducks, even with Canucks in games. Vegas is beat up and floundering, i don't see the ducks elevating their game this year, Canucks have a chance, Oilers have an edge and it is theirs to blow -- and they might.
We play a mix of top and bottom teams in the NHL and less teams in the mid of the standings. I like the idea of playing the top teams down the stretch because it forces the games to elevate to a high level and the Jets to be at their best when it counts.
This team can be good in the playoffs if Helly finds his game again, along with our best players being at thier best.
In spite of depth in worthy NHL talent on defense we don't have the top guy that can take over a game once in a while on defence - nothing else is really missing. |

Yes, success gives confidence, confidence gives success. He works hard in the offseason and is young so time is on his side for continued improvement.

I honestly believe that Logan Stanley will turn out to be the most important draft selection in Jets history. |

Another point about Stanley that is often missed by people who criticize his play and want to trade him is he's only in his second full season in the NHL. He's still learning what he needs to improve on and he will make mistakes but he rarely makes the same mistakes twice. He's a keeper. |

Jets "history" includes 1.0......Selanne, Hawerchuck, Doan , Tkachuk
But moving on to 2.0 Scheifele, Ehlers, Connor, Morrissey, Hellebuyck and Perfetti in the wings,
etc.
Agree.... a ridiculous post !

Matty Perreault is on waivers, Chevy should claim him and trade Copp and Stastny. |

He has had a pretty bad season, low production, and lots of injuries. I can't see Chevy either wanting him or wanting to have to send a guy down to acquire him.

Obvious cap issues aside, I would take Matty over Vesalainen or Brooks any day.

Until someone bumps into him and he is laying on the ice writhing in pain....
He has only played 18 games this year with a whopping 3 g and 2 a.

If Stastny is only going to get you a 3rd rd pick just keep him.
Copp is want a 1st rd or a 2nd and a prospect
1st is wishful thinking as I think 1st rd picks this year and next are valuable, especially next year.
Lastly, if we are “out” then id explore Dillon and 55……Dillon at the deadline and 55 after draft lottery. |

He's a familiar player that isn't any worse then anyone else in the Jets bottom six.
Perreault was a fan favorite so it'd appease an increasingly apathetic fanbase while giving an illusion of adding a piece to push for a playoff spot while trading out two guys that have decent value before they're lost for nothing.
It actually makes a lot of sense, Copp has done very little since going back with Lowry so trade him for at least a 2nd and put Perreault there to do very little, Ehlers replaces Stastny on the top line or Perfetti can go there whenever he's back.
There'd be plenty of cap space once Copp and Stastny are traded, can send Beaulieu down for a couple days for cap space if needed until Copp and Stastny are traded. No big deal if someone claimed Beaulieu but its unlikely he'd get claimed.
The Jets have no 2nd round pick in the next two drafts as they were traded for Dillon and a 3rd was moved for Schmidt, they should be able to get at least a 2nd for Copp and a 3rd for Stastny, it makes total sense to try to recoup a couple picks.
I know he won't do it but it'd be a smart move, this team is going absolutely nowhere as its built and getting assets for Stastny and Copp would be the smart play to make, dithering Chevy would rather watch his playoff hopes melt away like the snow and his UFAs walk for nothing I guess, he's such a great GM, all hail Dayoff! |

Why not get a 3rd round pick??
Has anyone considered all the assets the Jets have spent in trading for Stastny two times?? Quite a few picks have been spent on making Stastny a Jet, if they can get a pick back for the guy they absolutely should!
its highly unlikely the Jets are making the playoffs or that Stastny will want to sign here again, set him free to chase a cup somewhere, it'd be a real Richard move to keep him when a true contender might be interested in him, he isn't winning a cup here. |

the prices teams are paying right now are ridiculous, Jets have to be sellers!!!! Sell Sell Sell!!!! |
