Thought Frost had a really nice game, got engaged physically, kept his feet moving, was dogged on pucks, and was involved in a couple of quality chances. Shook off that nasty puck to the cheek, too.
Sanheim looked like peak Joni Pitkanen with the way he was cutting up the left side with the puck, lol. |

Who replaces G as the first line center? I would think Hayes. |

I don't care what line he is considered as long as it is with skill guys. Once the TDL is over I am hoping that maybe you see Allison healthy and up, Lacznyski called up and we see some more of prospects who could have a future here.

As Chuckie sits and lets the deal percolate to completion ( or not) I looked at Floridas roster.. Anton Lundel was out of the lineup but had an injury a few games ago.
The rumors of Owen Tippet a 2nd and a 3rd absolutely disgust me.
You have to get a roster player with a good ceiling and a lesser prospect and maybe a 2nd rounder...Otherwise your just getting AHL filler and bag of used pucks.
The Panthers may be a good team, but if G goes there, I will never root for any team that encourages throwing plastic rats on the ice. They revived that in the last few years IIRC. I know there is spit/snot and blood on the ice, but it was always like defacing a shrine to throw things on the ice aside from the hat trick. |

Against another weak team in Ottawa, I agree. |

Interesting metaphor.
Panthers are at an interesting state. I see that other than Huberdeau, their entire core is signed for the next several years. There will be plenty of money to up Huberdeau salary (Hornqvuist out). So, salary cap wise they are set. They have traded '22 and '23 firsts already. Now potentially going for Giroux.
Team has been stuck with low attendance for years and years. Lots of space to move up in rankings and make money. Merely being a good team is clearly not enough, as attendance is near the bottom this year too. They need to go deep in playoffs to change the way they are perceived (their 'narrative'). They probably look at Tampa as a model and see what that franchise's success has done to fill seats.
In summary, it seems like they are vulnerable to giving up more than fair value for Giroux this year. It makes no sense to give up two of their prospects for G, but they might do it. The stars are aligned.
EDIT: at, not in. Latter untrue. |

Ha ha. Low class. Ha ha.
Welcome to 2022.
Btw, I thought there was a story behind that. Someone scored a hat trick when a rat scurried across or something. So, "rat trick" or something something....

Believe Scott Mellanby shot a rat like a puck in the dressing room, and they came back to win or something like that.

"preparing" for the upcoming cyber GMs ripping on whatever CF does.
I will liken it to the guy who is pulling the nails out of Jesus's hands
and the heckler saying either:
You're pulling the nails out too fast OR
You're pulling the nails out too slow.

Fletcher's 10 years in Minnesota, and his time here is more than enough for him to be shredded to (frank)ing smithereens. Guy should have been fired months ago. If you want to defend his track record knock yourself out, but no one is buying it.

I dont actually think anyone is defending CF but rather calling out the fact that multiple people think they have more knowledge and could do the GM job better then anyone the FLyers have ever had.

All those trades were how long ago? Some of those are pre salary cap lol. Teams aren't that dumb anymore. I looked myself recently and couldn't find a single trade that fit the criteria of old veteran for blue chip prospect in the past 7-8 seasons. - Tomahawk
You wont see anything recent because it takes time. Some of my examples were older because they are well known.
Zhitnik for Coburn was 2007-08
Richards was dealt for Simmonds and Schenn in 2011
Carter for Voracek and a pick that ended up being Couturier in 2011
Schenn was dealt for picks that became Frost and Farabee
Toronto traded Picks that ended up being Hamilton and Seguin for Kessel
Toronto traded Rask for Raycroft
In 2014-15 LA traded Jones and 2015 1st round pick which ended up being Jakub Zboril for Lucic
There are plenty examples out there of vets being moved for picks and prospects that panned out. |

From the few games I saw of FLA this year, attendance doesnt appear to be an issue

Well, it's 2022, I like my version better, and I reject your entire notion that there is any universal concept of truth or history. It's whatever you like to believe, man.
So I am gonna fake news you.
