Thanks for the kind words. Batherson just signed a very team friendly 5 year deal, so he ain't going anywhere. As for Norris, he's considered a core piece and will be signed to either a 3 year bridge deal or 7 year deal I'm told this summer.

As for the Rangers, would you guys take Sanford?

Zaitsev has to be going man! Hamonic, Zub, Zaitsev on the right side is NOT possible with Thomson and JBD coming. Sens CAN'T be done and I think J.Brown is gone AND I think 1 other dman

After the 2010 playoffs Colorado went 7 seasons and only made the playoffs once. they wallowed near the bottom of the standings despite drafting Mackinnon in 2013 plus a boatload of really talented prospects before and after Mackinnon. MacKinnon is 26 years old today and Colorado looks to me like the team to beat.

Sakic was crucified routinely for his moving out good players who were not a part of the profile for the long term plan. Folks were screaming for him to do short term deals and bring in the talent for better immediate results.

Dorion is putting together a very good team. It will become very expensive very quickly. I really like Nick Paul, I like Connor Brown and I think that the Sens have found a gem in Zub.

But back in September I said clearly that the Sens will not be able to resign any of these guys due to their age and the off set of talent coming through their system.
I don't understand why people just don't lay out the numbers in time series to see that being able to pay Tkachuk, Chabot, Batherson, Norris, Timmy, Formenton, Sanderson, plus the other kids coming into system is going to be expensive. And it will all happen within the next 24 months. And, we still don't have an elite goaltender.

I agree.

I really like Zub. Would hate to see him go.

But, if I am a contending team desperate to improve my top 4 I am calling Dorion non stop on the availability of Zub. Finger crossed, I hope we see him in training camp this September.

If Zaitsev leave the Hamonic trade is not that bad. He have a strong relationship with Capuano so I hope Cap have call him before to ask if want to play here. He would be a good D to place with Sanderson

I like the Joseph trade. Younger and fast, imagine a line Formenton- Pinto- Joseph. Plus he s good friend with Chabot so less chance Chabot ask for a trade next year if we don’t make the playoff

Wow! That would be a very bold move. Keller is certainly the right age (23).

His deal is $7.1m for another 7 years. Sens certainly have the pieces to make it happen. It would be a monster move by Dorion.

I don't think there is a contending team that can effectively bid on either Keller or Chycuran at this time. Not sure Arizona gets full value unless they wait until the summer to do a deal.

I coach houseleague hockey and I often give parents the speech about the 24 hour rule. Your kid, a ref, ME --- someone does something so asinine on the ice that you want to scream or pull your hair out, before you say anything. Give it 24 hours. Look at it again in your mind. Then speak.

So.

The Paul, Hamonic combo of moves the money, Del Zotto sitting down there, all of it makes little sense to me at the moment. Give it 24 hours. Is Hamonic even staying here? Is it retain and a move along? Wouldn't seem like it with the pick going back the other way.

Lets just see how today plays out.

I have posted in the past and did again last night that Ottawa has called the Yotes on Keller, close of Brady's too. Time will tell on Joseph but great idea.

I find it comical how everyone thinks Ottawa is going to get Fiala. Anytime everyone and their grandmother thinks it's gong to happen, it never does, otherwise the GM would get fleeced!

Exactly, doubt it happens this year but it could happen with Zub as I don't see it either, next year both Zub and Brown will be moved at the deadline.

LAK and NYR are the front runners for Chychrun. If he's moved today, immediately watch for Zaitsev to be on the move to AZ as they will need to take on salary to get to the floor!

Can anyone answer why the Canucks, 4 points out and seemingly wanting to make the play-offs.....would trade Hamonic? Because he's SO awesome they need a 3rd pick instead of him in the line up ?

How does that make any sense? I thought Paul was a decent player on this team, wasn't he?
