Bill, now that the trades are done, do you see the Flyers trying the find a 5th/6th D man to go with the remaining corps, (Provy, Ellis, Sanheim, Risto, York) or try to find another top 4 D in the Off-season? I'm thinking we will end up with a stop gap 5th/6th and spend more resources on Forward and Backup Goalie. |

Bill, I thought Bobby Clarke looked good at the ceremony last week, but noticed he was limping badly. Is he recovering from something or is he really that hobbled? |

We will get to see Seeler, Yandle and Cannaughton, o joy.
Can you really bring up Zam or others , or do you let them see if they can get into the playoffs? |

Now its all about losing as much as possible to get the best draft position, that is the only thing to play for. |

I keep as many good players on the Phantoms so they can play big minutes and play for something like making the playoffs. The big club has got to lose games now. |

Does anyone know what the deadline is for players to be sent down to be eligible for the AHL playoffs? I would imagine, at least on paper, they need to send down Frost, York and Tippett at some point just to make them eligible? (then immediately call them back up)
Im looking forward to it simply to read all the people screaming bloody murder.

That's already gone. Bill wrote about it in the blog. On paper, they sent down York and Willman.

A 1st and a good prospect for a 34 yr old still good rental forward seems about right to me. Folks are looking for some kinda scandal here. Why? Is it that people just love a good soap opera?
I don’t care if they had 30 teams or one team to deal G to. The trade seems fine to me. Like many here I have followed trade deadline deals for many many years. Unless G was going to resign wherever he went, his value was a 1st and a good prospect.
Don’t have a problem with the deadline deals. Non issue.. |

I read an article yesterday that for some reason jumped out at me:
https://milehighsports.co...quitting-hockey-as-a-kid/
The key part of the article for me was
On comparisons between the 2021-22 Avalanche and the 2016-17 Anaheim Ducks that competed in the Western Conference Final.
“This team plays really fast. I mean, these forwards, they’re crazy fast, they work hard and they play well in the system. I think the biggest thing that I recognize from my time in Anaheim with that team, compared to now is that everybody was pretty reliable. Everybody kind of trusted each other. You didn’t really have to work to do anybody else’s job because it was like well, ‘you know he’s gonna do that.’ And ‘you know he’s gonna do that.’ So you can just go focus on what you gotta do. And then as a five-man unit, you become this kind of like, I don’t wanna say unstoppable force but you play that fast because everybody’s working the same direction and nobody’s trying to do two jobs at once. And I kind of recognize that here with this team.”
I know if I had to worry about my job and someone else as well I would probably lose my passion for playing and always have a slow start to the game. |

This is something good to look at when you see how poorly Provy has played away from a reliable partner. |

We see that in the Flyers game. It's why coaching and playing within the system is so important. The Flyers have no consistency in that same regard. Breakdown after breakdown and running around. The Flyers are certainly not a fast team overall but they also play slow.
