Watched him score a goal that I will never forget as a Ranger. Flying down the wing just over the blue line and a slap shot that beat the goalie top corner just under the bar short side. Greatest goal I've ever seen. He was a bitter rival but an amazing player. |

My first ever Flyers game in the 75-76 season Flyers vs the Habs. The visitors bus was always parked on the ramp at the Spectrum. My father tried to get me on the bus after the game to meet some of the players and obviously the bus driver refused. As we were turning away a man shouted down to my father. He was leaning over from the front seat over to the step area. It was Guy Lafleur. He reached down and picked me up from under my shoulders and lifted me on to the bus. Talked to me for a few minutes as he passed my Flyers program around the bus to be signed. Since then, even though a diehard Flyers fan, Guy was my favorite player not to wear a Flyers sweater. |
