"Should Carey Price be in the Hall of Fame?" I believe he 1000% is a Hall of Fame and I asked this question yesterday on the Podcast.
I can guarantee, with 100% certainty, that Carey Price is, in fact, a member of the species Homo sapiens, and not an inanimate listing of individuals, chosen by electors, that display a high degree of skill and possess a great amount of fame in their chosen field.
So no, Carey Price is a human, not a hall of fame. |

Mike Richter won the Vezina...zero times.
He was a runner-up...zero times.
He finished 3rd...once.
So it's not just the Hall of Fame, but 12 years of GMs who I guess didn't recognize his greatness.
His entire time in the NHL he was always way below Roy, Hasek, Brodeur, Belfour, etc...
He was a full-time NHL goalie for 12 seasons. He had a losing record in 7 of them.
But this is the Hall of Fame's greatest mistake...EVER! Maybe throw your name in the hat to become part of the selection committee and fix this wrong. |

Is that real? He just brought the Canadiens to the Stanley Cup final pretty much by himself, and the year after they are dead last without him. And that not even in his prime. The sad thing we will never know is how long he would of dominate without Kreider destroying his knee. And even with that he still was consider by his peers the best goalie in the world up to 2018… did that even happen once to Richter. Price unfortunately never had at least a decent team he could bring to the Cup. |

Price is the better goaltender.
You take both guys in their prime and need to win one game? There's no hesitation in my book.
Edit: Hell, despite everything that's happened to him this year, this is how players still see him:

Jeremy Roenick should be in the HoF long before either. Yes to Price. Yes to MaF. No to Mike Richter. |

Not even a question on JR. His stat line speaks for itself. |

Agreed, if Richter doesn't make it with all his accomplishments, including the Stanley Cup, then Price doesn't make it either. |

Both have a similar number of statically elite seasons, but Price peaked higher. The same is also true of Curtis Joseph.
All three have legitimate, defensible arguments to be in the HoF but I'd probably take the other two slightly ahead of Richter. |

Not really digging my heels in on defending Richter here, but he's also got something neither of the other two have |

Richter, lol. Please. Not once was he ever considered to be among the best goalies in the league. Competent is the word I would use. Certainly not HOF worthy
Price has been the single best goalie in the league multiple times. He’s propped up terrible Habs teams, year over year. Even if he retires tomorrow, he’s in the HOF

So Corey Crawford is way ahead of Richter then? Better stats and more cups. |
