What happen to Wilson? I didn’t realize he was out. Not that I’m crying or anything just curious.
Caps are in a tough spot now. The division is only gonna get better while they get older. Same with the Pens. This era of Caps hockey is respected tho by this Ranger fan. |

It's pretty clear, Players like Ovi, Backs, Wilson, etc aren't going anywhere.
I do think it might be time for a retool.
I hated getting rid of Sprong.
They need to get younger and bring in players to both support the top line and learn from them |

Wilson suffered some sort of lower body injury in game 1. He scored the first goal for the Caps and then that was it. He was missed, no doubt about that. I am not so sure the Caps would have won the series with him in the line-up though.

I agree with you about Sprong. The guy has one hell of a shot. |

Ugh.
Can they go a series without just handing the W to their opponents for once?
That Game 4 was just...familiar.
Somehow being up 3-0 and then giving up 5 goals was also so so familiar.
Hopefully some positive summer moves |

Who do you keep?
Entire D-line except Fehervary can go.
Knowing Gudas just staggered into 2nd round at our expense is brutal.
Forwards: keep Oshie, Wilson, OV, Kuzy. Backstrom just retire if he is mangled?
Mantha gets another year, as he missed a decent chunk?
Seems pretty skilled, but that contract is suspect.
Hagelin should be LTIR or moved.
Eller moved?

He's come a long way. I used to see him play for Charlottetown. He scored a ton but it was always the same move.
He's developed quite a bit with the Caps. but he can score quite a bit if given the chance

Thanks Brian for these writeups. Hope to get your opinion on what BMac should do to enhance this roster for one last try I think (maybe 2). Thanks again for your work.

He was a pleasant surprise for the Caps and certainly paid more inline with what he brings. I know he was overpaid before this though...I like that he could be moved around almost anywhere in the lineup which saved our bacon especially early in the year with injuries and covid issues. |
