Husso is 27 now, and finally got a chance.. Does St. Louis keep him and move on from Binnington? Husso hasn't proven anything and I don't think anyone Leafs fan would be comfortable with him as the #1 guy

He's got 5 more years at 6M per year on that deal he signed, I suppose that's a tradeable contract but he has a full NTC for the next 2 years and then a modified for the last 3. To me that means any team who might be interested need to have that cap space available & I'm not sure how many teams have it where Binnington would agree to go to currently. He's from Richmond Hill so he might agree to come to Toronto but you need to clear out Mrazek for sure to do that and roll with cheap, young backups like Kalli and Woll.
It would make him the first goalie playing for the Leafs to have won a cup since who Belfour? No wait JS Guigere!

Does Giguere count? Only played like 48 games for the Leafs..
St. Louis has cap issues of their own.. Question is, does the Blues front office have confidence in Husso? Maybe they move on from Binnington. If not, then they'd keep Binnington

In the 20/20 hindsight department, the biggest mistake Dubas might have made was not keeping Muzzin on LTIR and using his cap space. His reasoning (give the codger time to get into game shape before the playoffs) made sense. Turns out with subsequent injuries he never got more than a few (?) and another $5M rental would have been nice.
Right decision, not great outcome
Right place, wrong time
