Rutherford on Miller : I believe JT wants to stay in VAN and I know the Canucks want to re-sign him but it has to be at the right term. Both sides at some point in the next month or 2 will have a better idea on where we sit.

Not so sure it reads like that... the desire to resign him is being expressed but what is "the right term" as he says? Do they realistically think they are going to get a deal that fits? I'd say that is up in the air at best and reality is far from what you see in the comments...

Also as someone said JR the poker player. Letting other teams know that re-signing him isn't off the table. So if other teams are going to present offers they better be good.

One of the more interesting moments in the press conference was when the manager was pressed about Jesse Puljujarvi, who found himself in the bottom six more often than not at the end of the year and is a restricted free agent this summer. When asked if Puljujarvi was part of the solution for the Oilers moving forward, Holland simply said “that’s what I have to sort out.” The 24-year-old forward is due a $1.41MM qualifying offer and is eligible for arbitration.
