As assistant coaches what are their specialties?
After doing a little digging I was able to answer my own question.
Houda has been a member of the Detroit Red Wings coaching staff. He was brought into Detroit to help with their penalty kill units and their play on the defensive side of the puck. Prior to joining Detroit, he served as an assistant with the Boston Bruins for 10 years.
The veteran assistant coach won the Stanley Cup with the Bruins back in 2011.
Wiseman’s skillset lies in skill development, particularly with younger players. |

Upon hearing about the arrest of Ivan Fedotov, Kirill Kaprizov reportedly immediately returned to the United States. His name is linked to fraudulent military IDs being sold to players, including Fedotov, and Kaprizov is now wanted in Russia, per Sport-Express.
Ledecky and Malkin should be sending SEAL Team 6 to exfil Sorokin ASAP |

I get players have to see their families but they’re knowingly putting themselves in this situation. The priority for them should be getting their families out of there more then going to visit them. Of course I’m simplifying a complicated situation but it’s no big secret, especially to their population, the rules they have in place for times of war. |

Well at this point we can only hope that Sorokin didn't buy one of Kaprizov's bootleg military ID's
That would be the most "Islanders" thing to ever happen. Finally get a goalie who's one of the best in the league and then he gets detained over some horsesh it war his gutter country started |

No doubt, the #stlblues are a team to watch over next few days. Vladimir Tarasenko has no plans to rescind his trade request, he’d still like to move on.
And as reported this morning, Torey Krug is a name the Blues have gauged interest in.
Torey Krug would be a good fit, but his contract stinks |

What in the literal (frank)?!?
I’m assuming the charges are trumped up. Kinda hoping they’re not, but it’d be very much in line with past behaviour.
Sooo… what the (frank) happens to Sorokin?

That article seems excessively clickbait-y.
The whole thing boils down to "nobody really knows" at the end.
Sorokin stuck around 6 years with CSKA and won a Gagarin Cup with them. Fedotov bolted for the NHL after one year and likely pissed some people off, which is why he ended up in the situation he did. Not blaming him at all, but I think the circumstances around Sorokin are a lot different than Fedotov.
He better get out of there soon though, no sense in risking anything. |

I just hope he's as freaked out as Kaprizov clearly was and hightails it out of there ASAP. It doesn't sit great with me that he and Kaprizov were teammates. If I were a betting man I'd say that probably increases the chances that Sorokin would get wrapped up in this nightmare. |

That is why I said in the last thread that this could have a major impact on the isles and could completely change how Lou handles the draft and free agency.

#Isles Lou Lamoriello said he is not expecting to also add an associate coach after bringing aboard assistants Doug Houda and Brian Wiseman yesterday. Houda will work with the defensemen.
Lou expects both dir. of goaltending Mitch Korn and goalie coach Piero Greco back.
Well that's good news |

That’s where you’re wrong. The media is completely free to write whatever Putin and the government tells them to. |
