Carol Schram: Canucks snag sniper Jonathan Lekkerimaki with 15th pick, Miller not traded The 2022 NHL draft is nearly in the books. The Vancouver Canucks have stuck to their script so far, keeping all their picks and selecting Sweden's Jonathan Lekkerimaki with their first-rounder at No. 15. Despite loud whispers that J.T. Miller could be traded, he's still Canucks property as Day 2 gets close to its conclusion.

Outside of the organizations two new Swedes the rest will 99.9999999% never make full time NHL players, don’t waste your time worrying about them.

Lol, 3 D, 1 C all over 6' and still no love, these guys will probably never make the NHL but the coveted D and height was addressed just for everyone here.

Onto Development camp in a couple days.

A lot of long term projects that have a good skill that can be worked on to get to the NHL.

His numbers look decent and he has good size, what's the issue?

Not one player, defenseman, like him in the system. Rathbone is a foot shorter.

Barzal qualifying offer is $10 million wow, not sure that would go over well if he was a Canuck.

He looks like he's afraid of the puck when it's in his own zone. Reminded me of Matt Brassard. 17' Canucks 7th round D.

I would’ve liked for us to get a second round pick this year, and added a defenceman to the prospect pool. Alas, not to be.

I really liked the Lekkerimaki pick, and we’ll just have to see how the rest turn out.

You’re a plumber not a professional hockey scout, just let the pros do their jobs

Not a plumber. They did their job and picked Matt Brassard in 17' and then they repeated it in 2022.
