I like the trade for Grier 1st deal, I wish he could dump a big contract or 2 so he can build the team he wants, if not it's going to be the same old stale Sharks hockey.

It's not a bad deal..John Leonard wasn't going to fit into the Sharks plans after his play of the past 2 seasons so Kunin is an upgrade who can play up and down the Top9, bringing toughness and some secondary scoring and at a fairly reasonable cosy of $2.5mm a year after qualifying.
The next move Grier should make is to trade Adin Hill to Chicago for at least a 2nd Round pick in next years draft. Chicago has only 1 goalie under contract in their system that has played more than 3 games and he is often injured (Mrazek) They NEED an NHL ready goalie under contract and Grier should have the upper hand in negoations because I doubt that UFA goalies worth their salt will be clamoring to go to Team Rebuild. Then you sign Kahkonen.
The next move after that is to trade LeBanc to Buffalo for a 2nd Rounder in next years draft and the Ben Bishop contract. Lebanc has fallen out of favor with the organization due to his poor play for 2 seasons and was relegated to the 4th line before he was hurt. By ridding yourself of his $4.75mm salary and getting Bishops $4.9mm LTIR Relief, you now have money to sign Ferraro to a 3 year bridge deal and the rest of your lineup spots.
The next move after that is telling Burns that he will be moved to Power Forward to take Kane's spot on the Top 6. His muscle memory is still that of a forward which is one of the reasons why he is so poor defensively and he still has the hands of a forward to score goals. Watch the Sharks Classic games form the lockout and they all had Burns at forward with Jumbo and Hertl and he was great. Your Top 6 would be Hertl/Meier/Barabanov and Couture/Burns/Dahlen. Third line is Bonino or Bordeleau/Balcers/Kunin and 4th line is Bonino or Bordelau with Gregor/Gadjovich/Weatherby/viel/Reedy etc etc. Defense is EK65 and Ferraro, Khnyzhov and Meloche and Classic and Megna or Simek. Merkley isn't ready for Prime Time yet for numerous reasons and probably never will be..
This team would at least be competitive night in and night out. You have an extra year to let Eklund matured see who progresses at the AHL level for 2023-24 season.

Why would Buffalo do that? Two years of washed up Leblanc at that cost and give up a 2nd rounder! Bishop only has a year left. Buffalo has to get something in the deal.
