Hains: Clarity on Price
For half a day, we speculated on how the Canadiens were going to accommodate Sean Monahan’s salary being so tight against the cap and then, Kent Hughes made it crystal clear. |

Hall of Fame? - jugkope
Yes, but only after former Hart and Vezina Trophy winner Joe Theodore gets inducted.
Retired number? - jugkope
Only if there is any room left in the rafters.
Assistant coach position? - jugkope
Sure, why not.

I may be mistaken, but I think that when Price officially hangs up his pads, we won't see him again. He'll retire on his ranch to enjoy life with his kids. |

I see some people are bringing back the antivax conspiracy theory regarding Price not playing...
How does a knee injury not healing up properly can be so far-fetched to some people?
Pavel Bure retired at 32 because of knee injuries complications. |

It was so obvious in the way he was moving last season that the knee wasn’t right…are those people wearing blinders? |

Not to mention that it would mean Molson is willing to pay Price 10.5M$ to stay at home just to respect his convictions. |

My point was that I don't think you can get on LTIR by just being an antivax |

He won the two most coveted awards a goalie can get and in his potential final year went to the Stanley Cup Finals. Seems to be going out pretty much as well as he could, sad off ice stuff aside. |

Wouldn't be surprised to see him play if the Habs are remotely decent and in a playoff position. He can take all the time in the world to rest. |

Almost two years without playing...seriously I doubt it.
We'll see if he gets surgery...that would be the last attempt at resuming his career in my opinion. |

I think we all knew this was going to happen, unfortunately, being forced out of the game by injury and not on your own terms kinda sucks.
That being said, he is still young, and can look forwards to something new with the knowledge that money will never be a problem.
Good for him. |

agreed. you always read how athletes hate not getting to go out on their own terms when an injury forces them to retire. it's gotta suck because you worked your whole life to do something you love and then you're forced out of it just like that. |

Don't know if that's legit information, but I just heard Renaud Lavoie say that if Price gets surgery, it would require 12 months of rehab. That takes him to 36 years old. Does he really still have it in him? |

I dont think he does because there is no garantee he’ll be able to play to the level he wants and knows he can play at. That’s what makes me think he’s done. The last op didnt work because there isnt any structural damage to the knee, it’s wear and tear causing chronic pain… |
