Yeah, I re-titled it. Didn’t mean to make it sound like a comparison piece. The article doesn’t include any of that.

Hub
Kadri
Backlund

Pretty good punch up the middle. Man and here I thought we'd be gutting this team when the two amigos left.

Bravo Tre, bravo...

So who we sacrificing for more help up front? Or do we stay the course and see how everything pans out?
I can see the Flames making a huge pitch to Coronato at the end of his Harvard year so he can negate 1 year of his entry level contract. But I think we may see a D go for more firepower.

I wonder if we could see Kadri centering L1 with Lindholm on RW. NK was pretty good when.he took over for injured MacKinnon in COL. And Lindholm on RW would settle the depth issues there.

Huberdeau - Kadri - Lindholm
Mange - Backlund - Toffoli
Lucic - Dube - Coleman
Pelletier - Rooney - Lewis/Ruzicka

We can always trade Kyl+Dube for a solid 2nd/3rd line center (Dvorak? Henrique? Hayes?)

Great idea, but let’s go 1 step forward.

You don't trade a #1D signed long-term at a good price for a rental.

Everyone's saying "stanley cup contenders" - calm down because there's been many teams that looked good on paper, but never delivered.

Good blog Todd!

In a way Tkachuk out and Kadri in makes the Flames a three line threat rather than the two line threat of last year.

But still need more juice on the top six unless Dude can step up.

Who says he’s a rental and if he gets you to the finals? Hanifin has 2 years left and will be hard to resign.

Sorry Buddy.

I am back in Canada and have been over-indulging on the edibles. 😂🥴

Do you think Tre pulls off another move? I can’t see Kylington’s value ever higher than it is right now.

Shame they never saw what they had in Mackey last year.

Welcome back! He’s gotta be working on something. It would be nice to just see Stone and Ritchie back for another year though.

Here are the current lines from Dailyfaceoff:
Huberdeau-Lindholm-Toffoli
Coleman-Kadri-Mangiapane
Pelletier-Backlund-Dube
Lucic-Rooney-Lewis
Hanifin-Andersson
Weegar-Tanev
Zadorov-Kylington

Two big improvements: we no longer depend on one line and there are only three poor skaters (Toffoli, Lucic, Lewis).
On the second line, Coleman and Mangiapane can switch sides.
Given Tanev is coming back from injury, it's possible we start the season 13F-8D-2G.
The two extra defenders could be Mackey and Meloche.
On the third line, if management and Sutter feel that Pelletier is not ready, we could use Valimaki to get a player like Marcus Johansson or similar. Or moves Dube to left wing and Ruzicka takes his right spot.
Unless he has made it clear to Treliving that he has no intention of signing long term, it's possible we may be keeping Hanifin for now.

Valimaki by a country mile. Then Kylington
Meloche is a fantastic pick up and mackie is going to be an excellent Dman.

Thanks Man. It’s good to be back. It has been a a great trip so far. I am entertaining possibilities of moving back permanently. Big decisions.

I would love to have Ritchie back but after he got KO’d last year not sure he served the same purpose. Hard yes on Stone. I imagine they have some sort of gentleman’s agreement with him or he would have been scooped up by now.

I believe Gilbert is also open to waivers if he doesn't make the club. And they have Josh Brook on a PTO. makes 11 guys on the d end who could be on pro contracts. Lots of money tied up on the back end.
