This franchise is cursed. It's amazing how many of our top prospects continue to get hurt.
That looked rough and I hope that andrae is okay |

The fact that you are throwing these names out there and don’t understand that where and when these deals were signed makes a huge difference really points to your lack of understanding of the market in general. He is overpaid, but these comparisons are beyond stupid. - ClaudeFather
Most deals are signed at different times. Some of these deals were signed after Hayes. Those players I named who have actually won championships, won personal awards and have career high’s much higher could have made comparable arguments to the player in question.
I apologize for pulling this from the last page but if I’m gonna repeatedly be called stupid, let’s get into it. |

Love the stories about Allen taking care of his players before moving them. I’ll always think that was as much a part of Philly being a go to destination for many players beyond just being a winning franchise. I would love for both these days but it has a much more cold business feel now. Too inbred or not Philly seemed to take care of its family of players |

Hayes was signed pre-Covid and was one of the biggest free agents on the market at the time. His timing was great. Kadri was signed obviously after and felt the ramifications of the cap crunch. He’s also already 31 and signed that deal so it’s actually pretty fair. Hall, bet on himself which turned out to be a bad idea. Traded to Boston where he saw a fit and signed there. Landeskog took a team friendly deal to stay on the best team in the league and continue team successes. Are you starting to understand? |

Overrated and overpaid don’t have to go hand in hand. Simple concept really.
Hayes is overpaid
Hayes isn’t overrated. |

i expect Atkinson will end up making a very big impression on the culture of this Flyers team relative to the length of his stay here
too bad he's probably Columbus bound in his post playing career, I'd like him in the organization long term |

I wish all hockey helmets had face protection and ear protection. At every game and every practice these guys are at risk of an errant puck causing major damage. |

Coots is a 2nd line center on a contending team and Hayes is a 3rd line center on a contending team, and Laughts is a 4th line center on a contending team. There in lies the issues with this team. Everyone is playing higher up in the lineup than they should be. I didn't mention Frost cause quite frankly I don't even know if he is an NHL center at this point. Guess we will find out this year. FIRE CHUCK! Thanks!
YES. EXACTLY.
Fans need to always remember this when discussing this team. They truly are the only team that has blown their cap this way. It’s almost a whole roster filled with players slotted wrong.
Debating whether a player is good or worth his contract needs to consider where they are on this team. They continue to make moves due to their incompetence and blow their cap up.
Is their any player on cap/term that fots where they should be on cup contending team?
Maybe you can get away with 1 possibly 2 deals as every team does have that but whole damn team.
Almost daily I think how is this team capped out with the talent level on this team |

The hits keep coming. Honestly, isn’t anyone else better than Scott? - ClaudeFather
I appreciate that the article points out that Camillo has and continues to make corrections for mistakes and learns from them. It sounds nice to have leadership that knows when to pivot.
I also agree with the statement: “Nevertheless, poor play, a lack of faith in the management of the hockey team, and previous missteps on the business side have created a chasm between fans and organization that is so disparate at this point, that no matter what she does or tries to do, fans may be so spurned or apathetic that they won’t give her, or anyone in the organization for that matter, the benefit of the doubt until the team is successful again.”
She stays, so I am rooting for her.

And why would Hayes be consider one of the biggest free agents of that summer next to Sergei Bobrovsky, Artemi Panarin, Matt Duchene if he wasn’t overrated? All I did was name comparable contracts. Some signed before, some signed after Hayes’ deal. Each player being much better at the same cost. I asked you to do it and you refused. |

I try to avoid these semantics arguments. I do think most agree on two points: Hayes’ contract was an overpay from the start, and additionally, he has underperformed to expectations overall in his Flyer’s stint, mostly due to injury.
Whether you choose to view his underperforming as, in hindsight, being overrated, it isn’t pertinent really. Not going to fix it and the blame remains in the same place.
