-who is Jimmy Visey?
-who is Zach Acton-Reese?
-not long ago Subban was apparently what every contender was looking for. Now he's a PTO candidate?
-why would Wings fans be worried about Larkin and Bertuzzi not having contract extensions when there are numerous other potential UFAs also unsigned - Barzal, Pastrnak, O'Reilly, Tarasenko, Horvat, etc...Should those fanbases be worried too?

2. On Sept. 15, 1987, exactly 25 years ago, Wayne Gretzky fed Mario Lemieux for the game-winning goal with 1:26 remaining in Canada's 6-5 win against the Soviet Union.

Right. RFA. Good catch. Doesn't change the broader point. The author singles out Larkin and Bertuzzi as some ominous sign that extensions are proving to be problematic. Yet so many other guys are in the exact same situation. There is 9+ months to sort this out.
Just an FYI to any Wings fans worried about Larkin not having an extension yet. News out tonight that Larkin is pretty pleased with the way negotiations have gone thus far. He's pretty hopeful a deal gets done. They have 9 more months.
So a bit of a different story than this repeated narrative about how nothing seems to be happening. Also didn't really seem that difficult to get that info. A Sportsnet reporter simply asked Dylan "how are contract talks going"? He answered that directly. Quite the investigative journalist...
