Matt Ross: Game #7: Chicago Blackhawks

We're in trouble tonight. I watched a lot of the hawks game sunday and their special teams are surprisingly excellent they scored pp and pk goals that game and well the cats special teams are bad to say the least. Lets hope we are disciplined tonight.

Matt, I have to disagree with you on your description of the Chicago defense. They do not have a young core, but are laden with veterans Seth Jones, Jack Johnson, Murphy, McCabe, Tinnordi and journeyman Caleb Jones. Only rookie is Roos who played a couple of pro seasons in Sweden. Supposedly he is sitting out tonight's game. That said they are a mediocre bunch and could be susceptible to coughing up the puck if forechecked.

The younger defenseman are spending time in the AHL and will be injury callups.

You are right on about the Hawks ability to hang around and steal games. They overcame 2 goal deficits in each of their last three wins. All of them were against lesser competition so we'll see how their perform against The Panthers.

Yes, it's NHL wide and it's really annoying especially when it cycles "mid-shift" which it does.

Wow by some act of god we arent dead last in pp% i cant even believe it when im looking. But we did slide down a spot after last night from 29th to 30th. Just atrocious. I think its that bad because people insist on feeding that turd reinhart repeatedly trying to get him out of the funk. Tkachuk had a beauty tipin last night he should be in front and never leave. Reinhart should be off the pp all together... 7 games at line 1 minutes and he has 19 shots on goal??? He should have that many from just powerplay alone. But he misses the net sometimes and more often he shoots it right into the first defender. I am blown away
