I'd break up Gaudreau and Laine and go with

Laine-Roslovic-Voracek

It worked well in the last quarter of the season; it would also spread the talent to the second line. Rangers are doing it with Bread and Zibanejad can't see why the same couldn't apply.

Game 9 is not a must win, unless the team is winless, which they are not. Tough initial schedule, and some defensive issues and bad goaltending to deal with for sure. Bean and Boqvist have looked lousy, so that needs to be figured out. Meanwhile, Johnson looks real, Blankenburg is and will be back shortly. Chinakhov looks good, but Sillinger needs to find it. Normal stuff for a young team. Interested to see Jiricek tonight.

I said that from the moment they signed Gaudreau. Don't put all your grade-A eggs in one basket. Spread it, and force the other coach to pick how to spend his top-2 D men.

But I have no confidence in Larsen - he's not ready to be a head coach. So he'll continue to put Laine & Gaudreau on the same line. Right now - stop that line and you stop the best chance of scoring for the BlueJackets.

More from me . . . this team looks like a dumpster fire right now . . . no direction.
They've been taken out back to the shed and been spanked. First by a "lesser" team with a tanking tilt, that was playing it's last game of a 6-game road trip. Then by a good team playing the second game of a B2B.

These guys had no "jump";were getting beat to the pucks; giving too much space to Boston - weak gap management.

I also think Larsen has poor asset management. Too much Torts influence. Giving Gudbranson 20 min TOI is a detriment to the team, not helpful.
