Coming back from 0-3 to win a game is not something last years team was doing. Resiliency is an important component for contending teams. Was nice to see
Dobson is LEGIT!!! - kindlyrick
It was a fantastic comeback. Very nice to see. I had written them off when they were down 0-3. I glad they proved me wrong. |

The site has been a disaster but I’m not really sure how compatible the StarTac is with todays technology. |

BTW, Mayfield (3) has as many 5v5 goals as Marner (2), Matthews (1), and Tavares combined.

John Tavares: "It's not good enough. It starts with myself. You know, leaving our goalie out to dry. One of the best players in the league coming down the slot uncovered, untouched & just made it too easy for them ... we can't start like we did &, like I said, it starts with me."

That JT contract is looking better and better. Playing defense has always been beneath JT.

I believe they have to figure out who it starts with before they can solve the problem. |

The Leafs thread has declared they need trotz to save them. I laugh when I think of trotz trying to coach that collection of self absorbed whiners. They seem to think defense is an after thought and always have since that team has been assembled as presently constructed. That would be such a hard transition with a coach like Trotz. Remember the resistance he got from Ovechkin when he coached the caps. He would have to deal with 6 or 7 Ovechkins on that team |

I do not see a good match with Barry and that team. Barry is 99% defense and there will be an issue with a lot of those forwards. Barry is going to have to be willing to make adjustments with his new team as well. Ovie is older and was more willing to buy in. Caps also had better defensemen and goalies in place than the Leafs have. |

If Trotz went to the Leafs and they could shore up their blueline and get average goaltending...they'd be a legitimate threat. |

Well if they did that I don't think it would matter who the coach is. Like it's been said before you have to get all those forwards to drastically change how they play if they went with Trotz. Could it be done? Sure but that's a big ask. |

It's a huge ask. We are not talking about only one or two players needing to buy in. Maybe Barry is nicer than Babcock but is their styles and how they want to play the game that different?

Matthews is already an very good defensive center, on top of his other obvious talent.
I don't think the buy-in would be particularly difficult from the team, especially when they have jack-sh it to show for being "one of the best teams in the league". It's not like they already have some great track record of playoff success to argue with whatever Trotz have them do.
They wouldn't have to be as good defensively under him as the Isles were, because they have the horses up front to put the puck in the net. |

Goaltending and defense. Dubas built from the top down based on whatever stats he thought would build a winner. Truth is they were built wrong. Shanny and Dubas built that no heart having roster. It’s on them. We’ve seen that movie for decades (minus the firepower). |
