"I am told it would require Chicago getting involved as a thyroid team and of course salary being eaten along the way, but can you imagine the Leafs with Karlsson leading the rushes and power play?"
Please explain what this means? |

No. Hell no. No thank you. Erik Karlsson makes the Leafs a worse team. San Jose is playing this brilliantly. Jack up his TOI, let him roam the ice, score as many points as you can, so they can get rid of him and that horrendous contract.
Yeah, Karlsson is scoring points again. But guess what, just like he always did when he was scoring points with the Sens, he's leading the league in goals against while on the ice. This is no coincidence. His scoring dropped while San Jose was a decent team, because they actually cared about defense, a system, and WINNING. Now they care about rebuilding, so HEY, why not let Karlsson run around and score points!!!! Perhaps we can dupe some idiot GM into trading for him
They Leafs need a dman that is strong in his own zone, not the dman that is the worst in his own zone in the whole league.
Let Ottawa take him back. Please!!!! |

There is literally no chance this happens. Not even being discussed. Our defense is being decimated with injury, and we're going to go out and get an offensive defenseman?!? What are we, the Oilers and just trying to win every game 10-8?!?
I'll take back everything I've ever said about Ek if this somehow materializes. I sure as hell hope it doesn't. |

In 2 years the Hawks will be a better team then low talent Toronto. But sure, they’re going to retain for 5 years. |

Absolutely bang on! Karlson is one of the worst Dmen in the league! The Leafs need a serious stay at home, solid, big, defenseman! Karlson is the last guy they need back there!
I do believe the rumour though! Sounds exactly like something Dubas would do! |

Hi Erik. Would you be interested in waiving your NMC to go play in Toronto? Leave sunny California where you and your family can enjoy being anonymous. Now go to Toronto where the pressure to win is immense and the media will scrutinize everything you do, both on and off the ice.
Interested?

Depends if Karlsson wants to be on a contender. Sharks will never compete in Karlsson's contract. They could easily miss the postseason every year while he is there. So Leafs are infinitely better option for that. |

Aw why be so nasty? The Leafs want to win now and they don't care if the scores are 8-7 every night. And if Dubas plays his cards right the Blackhawks will eat some money and throw in Patrick Kane to help with more offence. He doesn't care about defence either.
All the Hawks will want back is the Leafs 1st round picks for 2025 thru 2030. Do it for the fans Dubas!! |

I am also hearing that a deal could be worked out to bring Erik Karlsson to the blue and white…
