Today was a pretty unreal sports day.

Brazil vs Croatia/Argentina vs Netherlands were two unbelievable games and tonight's Penguins game was a good one.

POJ has continued to impress. Very glad no team was willing to take a chance on him. I'd like Ty Smith to get a shot up here at some point, but obviously the salary cap will make that hard for a while.

Just once I'd like to know what it's like to have the refs hand deliver you a win. Sid really must go balls and all during intermissions like they say.

Shame Guentzel's nose wasn't splattered like his teeth. Scumbags deserve what comes their way. Sabre goalies have been run for years. Bout time.

Dylan Cozens owns Sidney Crosby.

I figured just once you would like to know what's it like to have your team win the Cup or at least make it to the SCF this century.

Want to know what Crosby owns? 3 Stanley Cup rings. Cry more female dog.

was great to see the proper jersey matchup with the home team in white and road team in dark. The league really needs to go back to this.

I agree. One motivation is that having the road team play in it's predominant color gives each game a more distinct look. It's not so big a deal on TV, but it affects the in person experience.

Anyone else think those jerseys last night looked like the Tokyo Katana jerseys?

It's great to have Jarry playing lights out. We should only need that for about 50 more games, plus the playoffs.

Oh and can't forget having the refs in our back pocket. You know, like THEY say, whoever the hell THEY are.

Meh.. Jarry made a lot of saves but didn't have to make a lot of hard ones. Even with the crazy differential in shots and shot attempts from the Sabres the first two periods the HDSCs only ended up being 8-7 for them when it was all said and done... And let's not pretend like this has been the normal for the Pens the past month or so... Jarry having to make a lot of saves to keep them in it. Last two games it has... Only the 1st period vs Columbus though.

I like those Sabres jerseys last night, think they're pretty snazy.

Fun one to watch last night. Sabres finally played a full 200ft game and hopefully will build on knowing that they can compete with the better teams in this league with that kind of effort. Honestly looked like playoff intensity out there from both teams.
Be interesting to see what's to come tonight?...
Who has the upper hand in a back to back, especially after a pretty intense effort on both sides...

Building was a blast last night. I sat around a lot of pens fans. It was a lot of good back-and-forth chirping. Someone took it too far at the end, but whatever.

General question is, is this the pens last kick at the can. They seem to be slowing down/aging out to me.

I think the pens will look tired. Just like every other back to back. Or maybe that’s why they took off the first two periods yesterday. Saving energy lol

There was some good things to be seen last night. The Pens played really good man on man n the defensive zone. Sure you don’t want to play in your defensive zone but you will have to at times, no matter what. Archibald is bright spot every time he steps on the ice. Forces multiple turnovers on one of the best defenseman in the league using his speed work ethic and relentless pressure on the puck. He needs to see more ice time. McGinn continues to score and Carter remains a clutch offensive player. Guentzel does a lot of Kucherov like things on the ice, with and without the puck. I’d rather see Skinner play and settle things on the ice.

Of course we are... It's a first half of the season non divisional regular season game... Not all that important, really haha. We've been spoiled with a lot of really important games the past 17 years.

3 Seems about right. It was right to the mouth and Skinner had already gotten in a couple of acceptable message crosschecks. Probably would have been 5 if he had any history at all.

Tonight should be interesting. We'll see if the Pens old legs can keep up for 60 more on a B2B. If not could be a rough one.
