You’ll pick up another 2 on Monday … keep winning boys … keeps my tankathon odds high ..

Actually was watching the game between Mich / TCU and flyers played a damn strong road game. That PK pressure is crazy good. Plus Torts is an excellent coach..

Great effort by the boys out there. One thing is true about a torts team they sure know how to play for each other. This was also the first game in awhile m that frost did anything for me. Any other coach this team is dead last! Tippett is no joke!

Glad they finished the horrible year with a W. It was a well earned team win. Can only hope for a better 2023 and light at the end of this tunnel.

It’s up to Flyer’s management to sell, sell, sell by the deadline. The remaining players are supposed to be growing their games; it’s not their job to worry about the wins or losses, only to play their best.

I am glad so many young players are producing. It’s up to management to realize they need this high pick though and make roster moves accordingly.

I mean they weren't going to lose 60 games. They should still be in a top 10 spot.

Schedule looks soft we need to rip off an 8 or 10 game win streak then let the chips fall where they may

Amen to this! Picking 14th again just cements another decade of mediocrity. What's worse is the Flyers bonehead management might not sell everyone well before the deadline, worsening the situation.

Picking top 10 is not remotely good enough. Everyone talks about needing top-end talent, including Flyers management. Well the team will have very little cap space and no real assets to trade for a top end player, so it comes down to getting the talent in this draft. If you want top-end talent, the top of this year's draft is the place to get it, and for that, this team has to lose and lose big this season! Someone needs to write the memo in Swedish so Ersson understands this! If I were Fletcher, I would make as many trades as I can as early as possible, bring up more kids from the Phantoms and play out the season. That is what a GM with an actual plan does. Unfortunately with the potential for a 3 game winning streak, Fletcher is probably touting internally that the team is only 11 points out of a playoff spot.

Big dropoff in talent after first 4 or 5...They will get a good prospect if 7 to 10 but nothing like the top 4 or 5. Draft is deep with GOOD PROSPECTS but the top few are as near guarantees as you will find

And the top few will play right away. The Flyers cannot afford to wait 3 years for a prospect to make the team and contribute.

Like the Blackhawks did....problem is Flyers dont have any expiring contracts that will be worth anything to other teams..Maybe JVR gets you a 3rd..Braun a 5th..whereas Hawks will be selling Toews and Kane. Flyers are stuck they have a coach who wants to win and pushes his players hard...no top end talent...no one worth anything in expiring contract UFA market...actually very little they can do as they will not make a trade involving anyone with trade value. They are going to win their share of games and like I said when they hired Torts they will garner 75 or more points this year. Torts was the wrong hire for a tank.

They are gonna need at least that long to clear themselves out of the mess they are in with the Cap. Need to draft well in that time regardless of position….it’s obvious this regime (or many others) are gonna just TANK.

There’s always the ping pong balls….

Did you at all consider the position of the rest of the league in terms of the cap?

Every GM knows that being 11 points out on January 1 is out of the playoffs.

Good for them, they played to win and played hard. I like that the kids are getting better. Tippett seems like the real deal, which means we have a 1st round pick that is hitting his potential. TK is playing really well, another 1st round pick. York seems to be finding his way and he seems like a legit top 4 D who can play both sides, another 1st round pick. Frost to me is an NHL player, if he and Tip can continue building chemistry, Frost should work out well, another 1st round pick. Pray that CF's last 2 1st round picks can get close to their ceiling. It also appears we have some goalie depth. For all the draft and develop conversations, the Flyers are doing it, some by trade but its seems their 1st rounders are doing well.

It would be great if they won the lottery this season or at least moved up and then next season another top 10, 2 years from now the cap will be much better. There is a path for the Flyers

I don't see them with a shot at the lottery next season. If you look at the young kids that are stepping forward, Coots comes back, Cam is back, both with something to prove, you just wont lose enough. You should not sell the kids and you can't sell the vets.

Though, if Coots comes back, plays well, cap shoots up, I can see someone like the Oilers thinking he could be he piece.

Tippet on a 31 goal 51 pt pace and he back checks. Plus a 1st rounder coming. Gotta give credit where due. That was a good trade especially considering the team was handcuffed.

did they also get a 3rd this draft?

In exchange, the Flyers receive forward Owen Tippett, a conditional first-round pick in 2024 and a third round pick in the 2023 draft. They also traded Connor Bunnaman, German Rubtsov and their fifth-round pick in 2024 as part of the deal.

What if the Russian kid is there at 7 or 8? He’s not coming for 3 years…but clearly is top 3. Some teams may not want to wait with other very good prospects sitting there.

He’s playing very well. Big kid, skates like the wind. Always seems to get chances even though they don’t always go. Great shot….I always thought it was a confidence thing with him. Kinda reminded me of Chris Kreider…not sure he ever puts it all together like that, but he does seem like one of the guys buying into what Torts is selling.

This is exactly right. The goaltending and the coach are too good to have a bottom 5 finish

Okay, like the movie…disagree with the reference.

Please explain if you disagree with a plan that includes being a seller this season.
