Yes, the Habs are losing, but pushing the panic button doesn't seem too likely. Everyone knows the challenges, from starting five rookie D-men, to uninspired play from veteran players, losing is part of the deal. MSL needs to just keep teaching.....
As I said over the summer and training camp, my belief in this year is not wins or losses but completely on player development.
Guhle, Xhekaj, Harris and (surprisingly) Kovacevic have shown they can (and will) play in the NHL - sure, some bumps along the road, but I feel they are further along than expected.
CC and Dach have shown they can be top 6 players, but without Monahan in the 2C slot, the first line has struggled significantly and Dach is currently not the answer to fill that position... makes me wonder if the Habs will keep Monahan around long(er)-term.
Slaf is another story.
I am just not seeing continued development in his game... and I am not talking about goals / points. The rink size and speed change, plus he keeps doing things that do not work in the NHL - things that he could easily do as the biggest kid, with talent and speed to cover mistakes, in other leagues... these (instinctual? bad? lazy?) habits need to be fixed, not sure if playing in MTL allows for that to happen.
Overall, happy with the development of players, so this has been a fairly successful year if you are not watching the scoreboard.
Slaf is just a kid, 18....playing and learning in the best league in the world, he will be fine. Tons of talent.....reminds me of Rantanen in plenty of ways. To gain some perspective, just look at how Wright is doing for Seattle. It is a tough jump......one that takes time to accomplish successfully.

Not saying he is a failure.
I am saying we are not really seeing much progression so far this year, especially when looking at our other prospects / kids.
I really do not care (and not talkign about) about goals / points.

Same post has been made by oiler fans talking about Yakupov, Ranger fans about Lafrenierre and Kakko, LA fans about Byfield and on and on. Not saying Slaf will fail. No one knows yet. He may end up coming around and being great or not. To say you know one way or the other is crazy.
you're always welcome in here gramps, no need for you to knock to come in here.
unless you were bluntly referring to your morning wood, in which case you can deal with that on your own, even if you must be very proud to still be having those at your age...
adds were funnier than the byebye itself.
