The road trip ended just like it went for the Canadiens, with another heavy defeat, but it could have been much worse. - Karine Hains
Still not 100% sure they trade Monahan.
The Habs clearly need a 2nd line center. Dach is not it (at least, now). Dvorak is not it. And without Monahan, the top line has been hand-cuffed / swarmed by other teams most night knowing if they shut down CC and Suzuki the game is likely won.
I would not be surprised if they try to keep Monahan beyond this season.

I like Monahan, but his health is already questionable. By the time the habs are relevant again his hips will similar to someone sentenced to death by snu-snu.
If he's worth anything at the deadline I hope he gets traded |

Let's hire McKenzie at 30 000$/day to tell us if it's true
- Fredo
I've worked with them when I was at Bombardier, rarely seen people that useless to be honest |

ya but as Mash is saying, he gives Suz some breathing room and it would be good for his development, I'm still pretty convince they are keeping him |

would you give him 6x6?
and then watch him go on LITR like Gallagher every year for the next 6 years?
yes, absolutely, Habs need a #2C but maybe not Monahan. |

Won't be surprised either when liberals and caq get jobs there once they leave.

I think, if he is healthy, they likely trade him.
But I would not be surprised at all if they keep him and sign him for a few years.

They will need a C outside of the next draft, too many kids on that team already. And some are not ready yet.
But health is too much of an issue/risk with Monahan and the value they might get in return could prove too be too high.
If Dach is not the anwser there either, they can always look at the market this summer. Remember that Mtl got a 1st round pick just to take Monahan off Calgary hands.... |

just like the Bombardier director that gave a huge contract to AJW ( the ones that bought back the Aveos plant in MTL) that was a cluster(frank) BTW
Spare parts repair / overhaul was around a 100m per year for the business fleet ( challenger and Global mostly)
then 2 years after she leaves to become a VP a AJW

I dont think he in a position to ask for that being hurt again, so if he knows that, maybe he willing to take like a 4 year contract ? at 5 isssh ?
I mean your previous team paid a 1st to get rid of you, how much leverage / negotiation power can you have ? |

he only needs one GM out there ready to give it to him.
like Hoffman who saw MB giving him 3x4.5M when he was on a PTO. |

I know that ship has sailed, but Danault would be the perfect 2nd C right now to play behind Suzuki. Untill any of the Habs prospect can step up.
At least they got something out of Lehkonen and Romanov, cause losing Danault for nothing was brutal. |
