Great teammates - we should all aspire to act similarly in our own lives.

I can attest from unfortunate personal experience that it definitely means a lot to Letang for his teammates to have gone to his dad's funeral like this, especially considering that they diverted their travel plans for it. It will really strengthen the bond between him and his teammates.

Yesterday was exactly one year since my dad died and it really meant a lot to me to see my friends at my dad's viewing and funeral. He was only 72 and a big Pens fan and used to visit this site a lot. On the other hand, I have several relatives who did not even bother to send a card or email despite the fact that they knew my dad pretty well from many years back. I did not expect them to be there since they live out of state but a card or email would have been nice. I hadn't been communicating much with them before that but now I don't plan on doing so again unless they initiate. One is a Capitals fan so what can you expect, I guess.

Sorry for your loss from a Rangers fan. I am 72 your dad's age and remember going to Rangers games in the 70s with my dad.. Cherish the good memories I know I am so glad to have them. Class move by the Pens team.

Sorry for your loss. I know how a little show of respect like that can mean so much from experience as well.

And no one will confirm, but I'm pretty positive MAF was there as well. He took 3 days away for personal reasons and was back to play tonight. Timing matches up.

My dad, 72, passed in August. I had a lot of friends attend the wake, some I hadn't seen in a very long time, and it really did mean a lot. Dad took me to Pittsburgh for the Pens first ever game in Consol. Special memory for sure.

Yup crazy. From diagnosis to gone, 2.5 months. Happened so fast. Then there's my mom given 8 months to live a little over 6 years ago still going. Not a lot of rhyme or reason to many things in life, I find.
