Karine Hains: In Hainsight: Expected Result Once again the Canadiens had a bad start and couldn’t recover, dropping a 2-1 decision in New York.

SO VERY HAPPY I am NOT a Senators fan this morning!!!

well, they're a struggling team that got their asses kicked by a much better one...

but yes, every day that is spent not being a sens fan should be cherished

yeah, I guess since I live close to Ottawa I've cultivated a hatred for the senators that is deeper than how habs fans generally feel about them lol.

and I don't know what the (frank) is going on in Boston, but those mofos are certainly on a roll. I don't think I've heard anyone saying they were expecting them to be that good this year before the season started... their loss against the kraken a few days ago was the first game they lost in regulation at home this season, wtf.

They have been good years after years and near the very top. They never really had to tank to get better either in a long time. At least they only won one cup in recent years, but that could have been way more.

they're kind of an aging team though, and I was expecting them to start slowing down a bit, but those bastards have found a way to achieve this sustainable level of success.

could be fun if they play against the laffs in the playoffs lol.

I don't think management will just let everyone leave and let the team fall off the rails, one reason for their success is player retention, guys want to be part of that organization.

Evans being called one of the best players is not quite true, as he simply is not. He is one of the players that gives the best 'effort' every shift, which is going to be missed if he is out any serious length of time. Lack of effort is a big problem for the Habs on most nights. Figuring out to fix that is a very big challenge for MSL.....

well of course he isn't an elite player, but if you look at the habs roster and how other guys have been playing like poop since the beginning of the year, he does fall among the team's better players, especially for a guy who's been getting 4th line minutes.

he works hard every shift. a good leader from what I hear and read. perfect 4th line center. hope his injury is not too serious.

agreed. they want to establish a culture.
we need to forget about the vets. don't watch them, focus on the kids.
kids work every night. of course they make mistakes, but they work.

not sure if you saw it but it was kind of awkward how the isles player fell on his leg, I also hope it isn't too serious but judging from his reaction after it looked painful AF. at least it wasn't a head injury, with his concussion history I'm always worried about the potential consequences if he gets another one.

could be interesting, although the Suzuki line could use a bit more physicality... Slaf has been playing a bit better lately, why not give him another chance there, playing with talented players can't hurt.

was Richard given opportunities on the top 6? I feel that could also have potentially become a pleasant surprise.

no he wasn't. the injury to Evans opens the door with Dach going back to center.

at that point I wouldn't bother putting an alarm, just enjoy a nice sunday sleep in. perhaps a little wake and bake, have something to eat, and go back to bed again.
