I saw very little of the game yesterday. I consider myself lucky!
Going from the best team to the worst team in 2 days is probably exactly what the Flyers need after that drubbing yesterday. |

Boston toyed with the Flyers yesterday. Flyers will take revenge tonight.

Bill Meltzer: Flyers Gameday: 1/17/23 vs. ANA - bmeltzer
Boston is the best team in the league. Regardless of what the Flyers have done lately, nobody should have expected to win.
Also aside from how bad our development of young players might be, I wish we had players on this team who might model their game after a top player in the league, current or past and really try to achieve being as good as that player. Be freakin David Pastrnak. I know this might be a lot to ask but Giroux was taken 22nd in 2006. A draft class with a lot of NHLers still currently playing. In my opinion Giroux was the second best player in that class to Nicklas Backstrom. Giroux just has a drive I wish our current players could find. |

I actually thought the Flyers had a chance yesterday cause the Bruins were coming off that emotional game against the Laffs on Saturday night, but that was an ill conceived assumption on my part.
Sometimes it's about talent. Pasta is a world class player and there are only so many of them to go around. Players can work as hard as they want to, but world class talent is a different animal. You either have it or you don't. No one on the Flyers can be Pasta no matter how hard that they work. |

Two bad teams playing should produce a fairly bad game. Just the way this season is rolling. |

Sometimes it's about talent? I'll tell you what it rarely is about. Having a superior work ethic and rhetoric such as we want teams to know when we get off the bus that they're in for a fight. How much fight did the Flyers new found work ethic take to the Bruins? |

Toews and Kessel are more likely to be in the HOF.

How long before buffalo is a top team in the NHL?
2 years away? 3?
They are loaded with top end and potentially elite talent. Keep an eye on them and see how a franchise does with numerous top 5 picks. The fans have waited a long time for them to be relevant again and that day is about here |

Do they have a young stud goaltender in the pipeline? Looks like they just have to two vets on the roster right now, but they’ll need to address this aspect. Anderson won’t carry the mail for long here |

Toews is a shoo in for the HOF. Kessel and G aren’t. Kessel’s 2 Cups give him the edge.

Better player is what’s in question, those other two will get in off of team success. Giroux was a better player than both guys. IMO easily. |

They will absolutely need a goalie to fortify the team but they'll have cap space to go find their guy.
I get jealous watching these other cellar dwellers rise to legitimacy again. I can't help it. I wish we have a competent FO. It took buffalo firing the former regime (hint, hint wink, wink) to rise from the cellar.
How does the free agent market look for goalies this off season? I honestly haven't even looked one bit |

Toews: Conn Smyth, Selke, 3 Cups as top 3 player, elite defensive player and phenomenal in international play. Toews is better. Giroux and Kessel are debatable so we’ll have to disagree.

Giroux was debatable MVP of the league multiple times, can’t say that about the other two. Spare me with the team success and international play, irrelevant |

Yes. They’re definitely further down the road on a rebuild than we are. Took an insanely long time due to incompetent management which makes me think it might take us just as long.
Not sure on the FA tenders. Here’s a list but none of them stand out to me other than say quick or Andersen on decent deals.
