Is there a worse goalie in the NHL? Wouldn't take him at 750K. All the goalies in the Pens organization are 10 times better. |

He's almost as "worse" as Calgary's Jacob Markstrom.
Jake Allen

This is so silly. Jacob Markstrom is one of the best goaltenders in the league. Most fans have no idea who Jake Allen is. Any player that has played for your franchise should be off limits to any team that has any decency. |

... didn't realize you were a comedian.
24 Habs Cups says you know poop about hockey ... stick to the Ice Capades.
When is the last time your team reached the Stanley Cup final?

Pens should move Geno and Sid at the deadline and get a head start on the rebuild. |

They're not gonna waive their NMCs. FSG should've fired Hextall. He's completely mediocre as a GM. |

i thought the pens were talking about khudobin? korpisalo? whoever they talk to, cant be worse that the most inconsistent guy in desmith. any time he plays a team thats over .500, he gets exposed for what he is. average goalie, on the smaller side (6 ft, 180 lb), over commits to one side totally out of the blue paint and cant get back in time to stop a deflected puck because he has over committed to one side. gives up too many rebounds. |

If Jarry or Desmith gets injured Allen has the ability to step up and play very well. It’s a backup option. He served very well as a tandem for the Blues. Been playing on a terrible Montreal team so |

People saying Allen is no good are so wrong, Allen is really playing great these days and the Pens aren't the only ones looking at him. |

Allen might have the ability, but he hasn't proven anything beyond mediocrity this season and PIT is not a deep team so he isn't going into a great situation that can insulate him. DeSmith has been mediocre himself and Jarry very solid when healthy. Makes little sense and this is just another of infinite cases of Ek lying about his sources. |

The Pens may lack some depth but even more to the point they often do not play good team defense and give up a lot of quality chances against. This puts a lot of burden on the goalies. In the case of better ones like Jarry they tend to get injured and in the case of lesser ones like Desmith they get exposed. I am not sure how Allen will help them in this regard. Petry was supposed to give the goalies better protection but so far he has not been particularly noteworthy in this regard, when he has been healthy. |

This makes no sense to me. Allen has a new contract starting next year, at 3.85M per year. So unless Jarry is not coming back, this trade would be ridiculous. I don't think this is where the Pens need help.
Also, it is true that Jake Allen didn't help the Habs much this year, but it is because he helps them win too many games (along with Montembeault), they shouldn't be that high in the standings.
