A great debate, who do folks think have a better roster, Vancouver or the Flyers? Do you think the Canucks underachieved this year? And I’ll add that this team also included Bo Horvat for 90% of the season played this year. |

The Nucks have the more talented roster….Flyers have had the better goaltending and coaching. |

Pretty clear the Canucks have underachieved, hence them firing their coach. Clearly a more talented roster than the Flyers. |

They have done the better job in the draft. They have some pieces to really build around. They need to hope Tocchet is the guy to bring this group together. If the Flyers had that roster, I would have been fully on board with that retool. It’s very similar to what Hextall inherited when he took over…not quite there, but a solid foundation. |

St. Louis really set themselves for a quick rebuild with their recent trades and some nice younger players. But at least we got a letter |

Not to mention their roster still has a couple really good pieces. The Flyers standing still for the past 8 years while other teams have made moves to at least go in a direction up or down. Might as well bring Hexy back after Fletcher, really etch the mediocrity in stone |

I feel bad for one of my favorite power forwards in Tocchet. He has to put a positive spin on this tank-rebuild project. And he doesn’t skip or run out of the pressers, when reasonable questions being asked. |

with them having petterson, i feel they are in a better place/spot to build. their cap is on par with ours. |

And more fun to watch than the flyers. But that is not a hard task. |

Think the Flyers would have the gall to admit that moving Horvat was a smart decision?
Or would they gladly have overpaid him to keep him on the team were they in Vancouver’s position.
Even St Louis knows they need to rebuild. |

Vancouver….
Flyers in grand scheme of roster construction cap outlook young talent front office draft capital all of it are by far the worse in the league.
I’d gladly trade this whole organization in current state for any team in league and it’s not even close |

Many Blues fans think the team will resign ROR to a team friendly contract in the summer.

Absolutely Couturier should have been traded. Now we are stuck with that contract until he turns 38! |

I'd like RoR to stay in Toronto but if they signed Accirari and had a solid 3 round run in the playoffs, I'd be happy.

Willie and Matthews contracts renewal coming up. I guess both will get a hefty raise. |

Leafs don't have to sign Nylander. Matthews may get an extra million or so? Plus cap goes up. Honestly, people said years ago when they all signed the team would be in cap hell and they'd never amount to anything because of it.
yet here they are. Making good trades and being a top 5 team in the league on a consistent basis.
If only it translated to playoff success

Cap should go up 4-5M when they have to re-sign Nylander and Matthews. What's the story with Muzzin? Is he done?

The few times I’ve watched ROR this year looks like he lacks chemistry with his wingers. It looks like he really misses Perron. It’s a big question mark about how he fits with the Leafs and if they utilize him correctly. It could be boom or bust. If he plays against bottom six and bottom pair defensemen, I can envision a mismatch that bodes well for him and the Leafs.
