Jhawk, I just wanna remind everyone that not missing the playoffs for 6 straight yrs or any hockey decisions cost StanBow his job it was all the Beach thing. In fact, it's important to remember that Rocky's boy was so enamored by not making the playoffs for 6 straight yrs, the hiring of Colliton by Stan and having a bottom rated prospect pipeline he EXTENDED and PROMOTED Stan the summer before the Beach story broke!
Think about that. This was the hockey side brain trust, promoting and extending Stan! ....... To endup with KD and LR being hired by that same brain trust in the aftermath is seemingly heaven sent, a stroke of incredible luck or both.
The book is still very much unwritten, but I could not have hoped for more from KD, LR, the plan along with any new hockey ops people.

Hello, Rico. I come in peace....
No need to rehash all the intricacies of the Stan experience; but I think there's something we learned about ownership in that last six years. They showed patience in their guy. I think they will show similar patience with KD. That's a good thing, imo; especially because I agree that KD is doing it right. Doing it right will take lots of patience. Seems like they can evaluate talent pretty well; they'll also need some luck in that area (just like every talent evaluator in every sport). More picks increases the odds.
One day I still want to have a beer at a Steel game.

Anyone who thought they were going to get anything of substance for Kane was kidding themselves |

Which goes to show how good this coaching staff is of the Hawks.
The Ducks are so much better on paper. |

During the intermission, Charlie R. on live tv just said it's "probably a 2nd round pick" for Kane as he provided updates to the situation.
Haven't seen specifics reported anywhere else so this was the first trade detail assumed about the return. |

Ya its not easy to change some 50 + years of evolution on my part, and root for the other guys. Got to tell yourself it for the best . Still win or lose there's always booze Thats always a heart breaker getting scored on late in the period .If they comeback from that got to give them credit . |

Based on speculation it Would not surprise me if Domi’s return was better than Kane’s. |

I think this came down to KD giving Kane a departing gift for all the years. He’d prefer not to trade for a second rd pick. I would like to thank him |

At this point in the Kane Saga who cares anymore what is coming back in return for him. Whatever the trade is its better than him leaving for nothing in the offseason. Kd is honoring Kane wishes because he really has no choice. |

Probably. Though maybe like the Leafs deal, it ends up being a first rounder just not in the '23 draft. Rags have a first in each of the two subsequent drafts.

Or maybe it’s a conditional 2nd that turns into a 1st if the Rangers go X amount of rounds, which will be tough in the EC. |

Whatever we get for Kane is fine, i would prefer a couple of 1sts but probably not. If it's a 2nd then that's fine as well, going back on hockey reference from 2010 to 2016, 10 to 15 players drafted in those years have played over 100 games, some very nice names in those 2nd round, and Wiz is saying this is a talented draft, so 6 picks out of 62 picks in this year's draft will only help us |

At the beginning of the year, the BOD was thinking Toews was definitely gone and Kane would be most likely to stay.
Then life happened. |

The accuracy rate of the BOD is less than stellar. |
