I don't see Pittsburgh making it. They are what they are. A solid team that plays up to their talent. They have very few intangibles. It's a team built around a core of 35 year olds. Of course those guys are top end stars, but time is chipping away at their stamina. Florida is really making a push. They have the talent to get to the last wildcard slot. If their goaltending holds up, they'll get the last wildcard spot. I will shed no tears for Sid vs Ovi. That train left the station 5 years ago. To this day, they still get prime broadcasting slots. Outdoor games, ESPN games of the week. It's time to move on and start looking at the new Premium matchups. Leafs, Bruins, Lightning, Oilers, Devils, Rangers and Canes. That's where the action is, not Pittsburgh and Washington. |
