At least we didn’t move back, should be getting a solid player. Still amazing to me that with the roster last year there were 6 teams worse than us |

If Michkov is there at 7 he has to be the pick. I get the complete risk of not coming over but he is exactly what this team needs in the future. He could come over at 21 and step right in.
Again. I am not forgetting the risk even if it is your first pick as new GM. But making that pick I think would show your committed to the rebuild and you know he won't be over until at least 2025-2026 season.

Leonard - "Solid supporting cast offensively" literally screams Flyers. It also screams boring and vanilla, more Flyers' traits. A cast of 200 ft players will not get you a SC. In fact, it will not even get you in the playoffs in today's NHL. Fortunately, the people running the team live firmly in the past..... |

My hope is the new GM is moving in a new direction. I swing for Michkov if there. That would be a new way of thinking. Take the chance. Take the risk.

Leonard is pretty skilled tho. Even more skilled than Cutter. One of the few times that a guy with a ton of Flyers intangibles is also a hell of prospect.
With that said, I wouldn't take him over Benson or Michkov. Those two just have more pure upside. |

*Leonard is a "Torts player" right out of central casting: Plays a 200-foot game, high-energy and high-compete player, relishes puck battles as much if not even more than the offensive side of the game, keeps himself in excellent physical condition, is an above-average skater and has a strong possibility of being pro-ready as soon as 2024-25.

NHL Potential
While he may not be the sexiest pick on draft day, Leonard is the kind of player that every team wants on their roster. With his two-way play, I could see him slotting into a team’s third line after developing at Boston College for a few seasons. He has top-six potential that could be reached if everything goes well in his development, but I wouldn’t expect him to be a first-line forward given where his toolkit is at right now.
The Flyers can never have enough 200ft 3rd line players. Who needs generational offensive talent and players who would be genuine 1st line players on a cup contending team when you can grind away all day and bang a few bodies. Sounds like a supporting player, not a main act. Sounds like this kid's upside is Scott Laughton, does that sound like a wise use of a top 7 pick?

Haha, could you imagine the Caps' reaction if the Flyers passed on Michkov? Their entire front office would need a change of underwear. |

That would be awesome. Then we would get to see him torture us for the next 13 years like Ovechkin did.

As Button said last night, there's no way Michkov makes it past WSH.

Similar to Vikings when the Eagles passed on Justin Jefferson a few years ago.

As others have said here, swing for the fences. Give me the player with the highest upside. They need elite talent. Take a risk. |

Sandstrom huh? I guess they feel like Errson can do the job?
Torts never seemed to be a fan.
I don't see Sandstrom getting much back in a trade. Hopefully Provorov can get a 2nd and maybe a younger defense prospect.

I also agree. That being said, I doubt Michkov is there at 7.

So the NHL rewards a team that
- purposefully tanks
- supports pedophiles
- covers up sexual assault
(frank) the NHL I want us to bring back goon squads and sign 4 lines of players like Ryan Reaves |

Is that the word on the street? I said that as soon as Provy didn't wear the pride jersey he was gonzo. They are only waiting until the draft so it doesn't look as obvious as to why he's gone. I hope we hit on the 7th rounder we get straight up for him.. |

They probably should have had picks stripped for the Kyle Beach coverup... that's certainly a valid argument. Certainly more terrible than what the Devils and Yotes did when they got picks taken away.
All the talk of rigging tho... nonsense. |
