Great blog Trevor!!!

I thought it was quite positive, given the circumstances.

When you look at the number of leads blown and one-goal losses, IMO this was the players quiet quitting on Sutter.

You have to really want to win and make extra sacrifices to make that happen. The players would keep things close, but they were not putting i in the extra effort to make it happen.

An interesting read; thanks.

Something needs to give on the back end. We have to shed one large salary of a defenseman. Even though he played quite well most of the time, I'd be looking to move Zadorov.
Glibert showed enough to compete for a spot, for me. Mackie was just OK when he could have made a statement in games he was slotted in for, but Gilbert actually did prove he could hang with the pros.
I'm not convinced that Kylington will come back and instantly pick up and/or improve at his position right away. I hope we can get a good defenseman in this year's draft.

Appreciated! Agreed. The wind was fully out of their sails after the second losing streak. That first one arguably broke the season.

Thanks for the blog Trevor, I was impressed watching some of the presser with Huska. He seems like a good coach who is fair, during the circus season last year you forgot he was even a coach.

After watching Vegas dominate the finals, I wouldn’t be trading Zadorov anywhere. Hanifin would have the most value and get the Flames the biggest return. As for Mackey, I don’t think he was ever trusted by Sutter. He showed glimpses of being a regular but spent most of the time in the press box, never really grabbing a spot. Rooney cost the Flames Valimaki, another D Sutter refused to play. 40 + points in Arizona, looks like he just needed a chance. I’d be happy with Gilbert as a 6 or 7th D,
Weegar Anderson
Kylington Tanev
Zadorov Solovyov
Gilbert Stone

Agree. Looks like he’s well respected amongst the players.

Interesting view, never really looked at it that way. Going fishing for the weekend with a bunch of buddies, one being an original Flames fan. Going to enjoy our discussions in the boat about what went wrong with the Flames. He’s always got a good point of view about the team.

I am good man! Thanks for asking.

I actually just flew in Cowtown last night. Ecuador has gone to poop and after 12 years it was time to pull the chute. I tied the knot with the Venezuelan lady and now I just have to get her Visa.

How's the golf game going? Golfing and Fly Fishing are the two things I am really excited to take up again.

Kipper for goalie coach, Robyn Regehr for D coach.
Probably going for 4 1st ov picks, the Oliler model.

A lot of winning those 4 firsts have achieved. Great model for success there.

Since 2010 Oilers have had
4-1st oa
1-3rd oa
1-4th oa
1-7th oa
1-8th oa
2-10 oa
10 top 10 picks in 13 years + Holloway at 14th
That’s the luck the new Flames management is looking for not the results.

You have to expect that a Lindholm signing will happen soon.

If not, I cannot see Backlund, Hanafin, or Tanev wanting to stick around. Backs mentioned wanting to chase a cup.

Conny might have no choice but to retool.

The ATHLETIC is reporting today Hanifin has informed the Flames he wont be resigning with them. If Lindy goes the same route this might be the dominoes that force Conny to rebuild/retool.

Most players want to win a cup. It aint in the next 4 years for Lindholm. I consider him gone.

Its a great year to load up on a bunch of pics. With the cap situation, the Flames can eat some of the contract on a couple of these pending RFA's and vets to get a max return. They could also look at taking on some bad contracts. If they get enough 1st and 2nds, they could even look into moving up this draft.

Start the year with Vlad and Markstrom and let Markstrom find his game. Trade him mid season and bring up Wolf.

Conroy's got a long summer ahead of him. DOMINO MOTHER(frank)ER!
