Hains: In Hainsight: Moving Up
Yesterday, two members of the media reported that Kent Hughes is actively trying to make a deal to move up in the draft and of course it got everyone talking. |

like I was saying, the difference between Fantilli and the kid they would get at 5, let say Leonard, is not worth the package they would have to give ANA to move up. |

that all depends on your evaluation of the young talent in that top 5, from the sound of it there does seem to be a significant gap between Fantilli and the others, even if he isn't a generational player like Bedard should turn out to be. |

Getting Fantilli who is projected to be a 1C would be a game changer, win the middle, win the game |

It may cost the Habs Lane Hutson…
So The 5th + Lane Hutson…
Not sure I would do that…

You gotta give to get.
I don’t think Armia and the 31st wouldn’t cut it.. |

This HuGo you like to call them has preached patience from the start. They will be building for the long term, so they say. They have a decent start, got some interesting prospects, but one player does not get them there....well Bedard maybe, but you get my point. There is a big difference between making inquiries, which they should be doing, and 'really trying hard' which I doubt they are doing.....
Passing on Michkov is easy, far too many concerns with his availability, even with that talent. There will be a very good player chosen, so no worries..... |

I haven't seen the players enough to form an opinion, so I guess only Hughes knows if it's really worth it. From my perspective, the package for Anaheim's 2nd seems steep for the difference in talent, there is one piece too many in my opinion. Not sure Anaheim really wants Anderson due to their window, so I would keep him and offer the 5th OA, Harris and Beck. I probably wouldn't do that either, but again, I haven't really evaluated the players.
I think the most realistic option is to trade up with San Jose. Of course, if Smith is also their target, we might overpay for that too. But going down only one spot and receiving Beck or Harris and, say, our 3rd rounder (69th OA) or a middle grade prospect (Oliver Kapanen? I don't know the prospects enough either) might make them think twice about it. |

oh I'm well aware of that. Habs need to find themselves a true #1C and #1D to have a chance. |

at least in my case I'm in the office 2 days a week... I try not to complain about it but I just hate it so much, especially since no real justification for it was given. I'm happier and more productive working from home lol.

I think the justification for mist companies is the office space they pay to rent…they figure they’ve got to use it sometimes or it’s wasted money |

if only my cubicle looked like that though... the ones we have here have a nauseating hospital-green color, it's old poop dating back to the 80s. |

John LeClair to the Flyers, eh?
At the current rate, Mark Recchi is going to be named the Flyers team doctor soon. |
