listen to last friday "the sick podcast", they had a guy that coached in Russia the past few years (now coaching at the university level in Canada because of the war). Great insight on the KHL, size of the rink, SKA, what he hears about Michkov.

Fun fact I didn't know. Half of the KHL teams play on NHL size rinks, the other half plays on Finland ice size. SKA plays on an NHL size rink.

Friedman said the Michkov camp was not returning messages for interviews, some teams viewed it as he was picking which teams he wanted to "short list". Some teams sent people to meet with him this past winter and Michkov people were not letting him speak with NHL reps.

Supposedly he has a lot of people around him, agent and advisors you have to go through first before you get to him.

I agree, the russian thing is non-factor, they all come over in the end. Habs aren't ready to be competitive, he can develop his talent whitout the pressure and scrutiny. If he's the most talented go for it.

I think Montembeault will get the lions’ share of the work this year and that should allow Allen to stay healthy. If he does get injured, you call up Vrbetic if you have to, Primeau hasnt shown anything special so i think it’s time to move on before he doesnt have any value left…

Yup they made it easy for me lol but had michkov been available, i still wouldn’t have picked him…ghe Habs are at a stage when they can’t risk to gamble and end up with nothing at all. This might be their last top 5 pick for a while…
