Full trade, per sources:
To #NHLBruins: Rights to RFAs Ian Mitchell and Alec Regula.
To #Blackhawks: Taylor Hall, rights to UFA Nick Foligno.
No salary retained by Boston, this represents a pure salary dump to clear $6 million off Bruins' books. |

Former 1st overall pick to help guide Bedard, and skill to play with. Zero issues with this trade. Ian Mitchell needed a new start, and Regula played all of 4 NHL games last year. |

Wonder if they sign Filigno as Bedard’s bodyguard. |

Agree. I felt this one coming. Looks like the B's will sign Bertuzzi or trade for Hannifin?
If the Hawks can sign Foligno, that provides the tougher veteran presence so we don't need to acquire Looch or other fill-in-the blank tough guy.
Provided Hall is not moved, does this mean we are out of the running for Compher? |

MOST important part. Hall contract only until 2024-25.
We had to get to floor anyway.
Nice move, 6 million not killer, a true NHLer to play top 6. And not long term. Tradable asset.
Not a lot to dislike with this move.

Hate losing Mitchell.
Good thing Hayden isn't here, or Foligno might be uncomfortable in the locker room |

Agreed. 31+ million still in space after acquiring Hall. Hall also has a 10 team "No list" so if Hawks wanted to flip him in the next 2 years they have some options there. |

It feels odd to have the Hawks benefit from a cap dump trade.
Mitchell and Regula didn't factor into the Hawks plans anyway, it's not a loss to give them up.

Just under 10 million left to spend to get to the cap floor now, I mean this is a great move IMO. What I also like is now if they look to move Hall retaining half to bring him down to 3 million is huge.

I think it was 16 team no list. I hope he can stay healthy, it'll be interesting at least he'll be able to skate with Bedard |

I mean, Hall will be good for Bedard, just surprised the Hawks didn't make Boston pay to dump him. |

Would Hall at 50% retained be enough to get the 14th pick from Pittsburgh? We could throw in the late 3rd or take Granlund. |

Ya this just doesn't seem painful enough for the Bruins. At least squeeze them for something like a 2nd round pick next year or beyond. |
