I’ve come around a little more on the pick. Not completely sold, however I do like the fact his D game is supposedly very strong and we need player that can defend … no matter what position they play…

Pretty underwhelming 2nd round for my ducks... Brindley should have been one of the 2nd rounders...

instead we take a flyer on a bunch of bottom 6 scrubs.. none of which will ever see the nhl...

I was really surprised with Carlsson, but after talking with some Canadian friends, I kind of get it. There was an interview with Fantilli after the lottery and Sportsnet asked him if he had a preference where he'd go. Instead of saying the P.C. response he said he really hopes he gets picked by Columbus and he wasn't interested in playing in California. I'm sure Martin Madden heard this before it was pulled by Sportsnet and it influenced his decision. You can't have that high of a draft pick pull a f@cking Justin Schultz on your team. Fortunately, Carlsson, while not as flashy offensively as Fantilli, is still a great player who, like Mason McTavish, is already playing against men and will probably playing with the Ducks next year whereas Fantilli is going back to Michigan. The only thing that makes me smile perversely is that Fantilli is going to be playing for Babcock!

Just confirmed all of this, BTW. Fantilli told GMPV he was almost certain that he was going to return to Michigan. Jody Shelley just said on NHL Network that the Jackets confirmed that Fantilli is going to forego going back to Michigan and will join Cbus. F*ck that guy!
As for guys that can finish, Saturday is where we'll see what the real plan is for next year. GMPV better be very busy on the 1st!
