Looking around, I think a lot of goalies will be available on the waiver wire at the end of pre season. Just depends where he ranks on the list

If Monty stays healthy, and can play at least as well or better than last year, I expect him to get 50 starts. Even if he gets injured or regresses, I do not expect Allen to get more 30-32 games.

Perhaps Primeau gets a few at some point.

I like Allen as a back-up, but if he has to play over 35 games, this will be a very long season.

I am not too afraid he gets picked up on the way down, odds are he would be picked up on the way up during the regular season if he gets called up and a team has a few injuries at that point.

If healthy, 35 games is a good bet.

They should move Allen if they can, unless they are willing to lose Primeau on waivers and move on. A team will most likely have interest with his age and contract. Hes cheap and still young. That matters in a cap world. The team picking him up would have nothing to lose.

But if they wanted to moved Allen in the off season, it would probably have been done by now. Unless they are waiting training camp to make that decision?

the time to move Allen was last winter at the tdl. sadly that was made difficult because he got a brand new contract worth 3.8M per. to this day I do not get this one.
don't extend him and trade him at the tdl. that was pretty simple. but no.
now we have to expect him to be what he was always supposed to be, a backup. not to Price but to Monty.
as for Primeau...difficult to know if he'll clear waivers or not. I hope he does but don't care much tbh.

yes, but in the mean time they're at risk of losing Primeau on waivers.
had they traded Allen last winter.... Primeau could have finished the season in Mtl and back up Monty at camp.
just not very good asset management imo, unless they have 0 expectations for Primeau and have decided to go with Allen/Monty for 2 years, which is totally possible.

Drury: Hey Kent, 'sup female dog? Tell Gordon to (frank) off, I hate his guts.
HuGo: Easy there buddy, he left you a decent team and a great group of prospects, not his fault you guys can't develop players.
Drury: Looks who's talking.
HuGo: So...what about Laffy, can we make a deal?
Drury: Sure, what you offering?
HuGo: I would be ready to send Hoffman, Armia and 3rd round (Minn)
Drury: Whoooooa. What about Slaf, Reinbacher, Huston and your 1st next year?
