PSA if you are 50+ or close to 50 I’d personally strongly encourage you to get your Shingles shot.

I’m on week 3 of having Shingles and wouldn’t wish this on anyone.

I always thought it was an “old person” thing but my Dr told me it’s become very common for 40+ to get it over the past 5 years or so.

Lucky me to get it bang on my 50th year on this big marble. It was on my to do list this year, I just hadn’t got it yet. 🙄

Sorry to hear about the shingles… not something I’d ever want to live through that’s for sure. The one bonus of my consistent health care is to have things like that done routinely (shots for everything).

Any word on how much longer you’ll need to wait to be through this? Hopefully sooner than later.

Me and my gf gave up on our own memory when it came to dates and literally have gone back to hanging a calendar in the kitchen lol.

It’s one from the local mechanic we use, it’s a bunch of cats, and it gets written on routinely. We’re now magically ahead of everything notably the last few months lol.

Agreed on the hope for sooner vs later. As I told my wife today - I’m starting to heal the skin sensitivity pain / rash pain has gone from the range of 8 when I’m absolutely still to a 10 down to 6 when absolutely still to an 8 or so.

Even taking deep breaths hurts - having a head / sinus cold is not helping at all.

Not to be gross but the other sign I’m on the mend is the rash has blistered and is now scabbing over and will flake off eventually apparently. Think chicken pox as a kid but instead of spite it’s a whole rash of that. The skin sensitivity is mush bigger and painful than the rash most of the time.

Literally just stood outside and the breeze blew my Tahoe against my skin around my rib cage area and instant snug time pain.

I’ve talked to a few folks who have had ir and done lots of internet research. Often 5 weeks of pain but I got on an anti viral drug a day after the rash which no should help speed this up.

I’m determined to work Monday remotely - being off work for 2 weeks has be so far behind!

Side note I’m on an anti seizure drug which is supposed to help with the nerve pain - maybe something f you are on or have been on - Gabapentin

Sounds like a boring long weekend coming along. Too much rain and thunderstorms to start out around here. I wonder how bad the Jays will get whooped this weekend. It almost feels like another coaching change is around the corner.

Man oh man you’ve been fighting through a ton of stuff. You’re suffering significantly that’s for damn sure. Yeah I’ve been through a hell but it didn’t include breathing and/or skin pain… well the staples weren’t pleasant but they weren’t “stuck” on me for long lol.

As for the meds no, those are for partial seizures but I’m glad you’re taking them since even partial ones can grow into massive ones if not taken care of. I’ve been on the heavy duty couple since 2020 now but I will always respect efforts to avoid any type of the three dozen seizures.

I hope you come around and get to enjoy some of this summer… my b day is Aug 30 so before then is when I’ll have my fingers crossed for you.

Nothing but an open ski, a slight breeze, and sitting around 30 here in London.

The Majors are playing the Brantford Red Sox tomorrow, in the world’s oldest ballpark here in London (Labatt Memorial Park). My gf will be off at work and it’s not far from where I live so I may just go grab a ticket for myself. Love that park, even got to play there as a teen a few times.

It's been a weird summer. By now the grass is usually brown and you don't need to cut it for 2 months. I've had to cut twice in July and will have to do it again next week. Getting drowned out there some days.
