Watched both games and not impressed by the prospects whatsoever so far.

Hanas looks legit, Elmer needs to be waaaaay harder to play against, smaller players knock him off the puck all the time.
Haven't seen anything great from Kasper and Danielson in 2 games.
Wallinder and Tuomisto are just nothing special, except for size.
Too bad Mazur got hurt

Cossa was a mess again he looks like he is lost. He looks slow and reflexes are terrible, can anyone say Tom Mocollum. Prospect pool looks weak based on these 2 games. Kasper showed some grit tonight but really does not stand out in anyway. Lombardi looks like he could be a surprise if given a real chance of going with the best players instead of where you are drafted. Dress Bednar tomorrow and leave Cossa in the hotel so the young guys can at least get one win.

It is the silly prospects games, but they still measure the level of the prospects each team has.

It's waaaaaay too early to declare any of these prospects are a bust in this tournament. Many have never even played a game in the AHL level yet. Hopefully some of them will be in some NHL pre-season games and we'll see how they respond.

Nah dude. Wallinder sucks. I don't care if this is his first time playing in NA or if these games are meaningless. Bust.

Here's the thing; Wings fans are hungry for a winning team. 8 years now? Frankly, we were spoiled and must now pay the price for success and "sub-par" asset management. Just my opinion, maybe I'm an optimist I dunno.

We are NOT SCF-bound, y'all. I've read posts from folks here whose opinions I respect, and they reflect extreme frustration. But these are kids. Do any of you remember what your mind-set was at 18, 19, 22? Now, these "kids" have been pushed to excel on the ice, they're professional athletes and should be able to perform at a higher level, but there's still a growth curve for every form of team known to man. Sucks to be let down, but I'm looking more toward the improvement of the small things....that lead to the big things....that lead to winning.

TDL was odd, been a few moves that have been....confusing? It's a deliberative process, in my opinion. This will take time (y'all tell me to come back to this post in December when I'm screaming about how trashy we are, please!). I don't want to wait. You guys don't want to wait. But for me, I'm not throwing the baby out with the bath water....

Baby steps to the elevator.....

Haven't seen him play at all since he's been in Sweden. Just seen the initial scouting reports that he's big and a very good skater for his size frame. I'll wait and see how he does in GR and watch him live to get an idea of his skillset. Hopefully Hakan Andersson had some positive input on this kid when he was scouted...

More than the games is the (perceived) effort. It felt like the team was either overwhelmed or just outside of their zone. With as many scouts and coaches that are at these things you hope to see better efforts. It just felt like the team deflated under pressure.

Big Elmer does not look like he is bringing momentum into the season. I thought Danielson was good, but playing safe. The big take away is we aren’t as deep as I had hoped

It's official, NBP - Need Better Prospects

How do you lose to the Laughs, who almost have no good prospects cause they trade away their picks?

I'd agree, overall. Seems to be a bit of a pervasive issue; lethargy. There definitely need to be changes, engagement by the coaching staff, kids need to show they want to play in the NHL. That being said, many of these kids have shown, at various levels, they are strong players so I think there's hope. Like you, I was frustrated watching replays, but there were some strong players....once in a while.

We know this'll take time, but the people who can change how much time are the ones wearing the winged wheel.....
