@Tojo and MickV

I think later season fatigue is going to be an issue no matter what....so they better get off to a hot start....

Jake skated for 45 mins today. That's encouraging....and flies in the face of my doom and gloom perhaps not back until November or December comments around here when surgery first announced...

The NHL should just hold its own best vs best tournament. Pay the players to be there. A tournament where teams are pulling from Canada and the US vs teams pulling from a country as big as Texas isn’t a best vs best.

A couple other notes I heard from Madden and Yohe

Hinostroza is with Sid and Rust. Looked pretty good to them, but not sure he wins that spot.

Smith-Malkin-Rackell they think is a line Sully really wants.

Pettersson looks to start with Karlsson.

Carter isn't getting scratched no matter what the fans want, but he'll probably be at wing now.

Yohe was very adamant DOC is better at C than W and would like to see him get a month run at 3C.

Yohe said on Twitter that Graves looked good today.

Sometimes it is a good thing NOT to make the playoffs Mario Jagr and Sid are prime examples

Then why do Finland and Sweden keep finishing better than us in said tournies? I mean your boy Torts coached the most recent one so surely you have to have a good explanation for this.

Crosby leading a ragtag line of Fighting Irish? Sounds good to me, brother!

Viking blood. So you don’t think a NHL best vs best tourney with NHL ice, NHL players and mixed nationalities would be better than some cooked up patriotic bullpoop tourney? I just root for my favorite players anyway in those tournaments. I was more happy for Sid to get the golden goal than if the US would have won.

My mom's side of the family is Swedish. I always root for my fellow vikings unless they're playing the US -- even though the fashion choices of the Swedish players are highly questionable.

I was definitely rooting for USA, but it definitely eased the pain that Sid won gold and he scored the game winner.

The 2014 Canada vs Sweden gold game came on like 8:30am here...a buddy of mine hosted a potluck boozy brunch party for that one hahah

Nah. Sid> some false sense of patriotism that you’ve been force fed from birth.
