I have not read or seen anything that confirms Armia is 100% going to Laval.

There is still a possibility that Armia may be on the team. They may waiver him and send him down, with a few other players, to get under the cap before putting Price on the LTIR to maximize that benefit.

Will be interesting to see what happens in the next few days.

Lindstrom was a fringe nhler on a bad wings team last year who was made expendable because Justin Holl. Of course he'd be put on waivers

Mind boggling, looks like they are keeping Barron around. I really though Norlinder earned and deserved a shot.

They also decided to keep Ylonen over Heineman.

well, Ylonen would need to go through waivers, not Heineman

I don't really get that decision, aside from trying to make the Lehkonen trade look good. Barron spent training camp making bad decisions in the three zones, offensively and defensively

meh, it's a question of time before he is passed by Reinbacher and Mailloux. hopefully they'll be able to trade him at the right moment for the best return possible. keeping him in MTL probably helps value wise.

Yeah, not criticizing Ylonen vs. Heineman, just mentioning it.

But I do think Heineman will have a regular spot on the team before the season is over.

yeah, well they can keep him, unless they're trading him away for really cheap I wouldn't want the habs to spend any assets to acquire him... thank goodness MTL didn't draft him, we would've literally never heard the end of it.

anyway it feels like I've been hearing his name in trade rumors for an eternity now, but he's still only 21, no real need to panic in terms of development.

I wonder what the asking price is, and how much of a bidding war there could potentially be to get him...

Laffy ('20), Krappo ('19), Krapstov ('18), Andersstink ('17)

They either suck at drafting top 10 or they can't develop high end prospects

there's still time in front of them to become very good NHL players, but yeah there does seem to be a bit of a pattern there...

It didn't help that Lafreniere stepped in and was slotted 4th on their LW depth chart behind Panarin, Krieder and Buchnevich

Most players drafted are mediocre (at best), as a general rule. Some are above average, and a few are stars.

Unless you get McDavid, you just never really know... you can hedge your bets and guess, but still a crapshoot. And some years, the top 10 ranked players are weak as (frank), compared to other years.

Given most of the players are similar-ish in talent, then I think it does come down to proper development in a lot of cases.

I mean, your drafting is a lottery ticket, sometimes you hit. But the development process is 100% in a team's control.

I would have added ‘who gives a (frank) about the Rangers’, but that’s just me..

not sure if there are issues with coaching but I was under the impression that Laviolette was usually very decent at managing young players.
