Thanks Trevor.

Amazingly even though Vesey travelled a fare distance to maintain speed, and it was a blatant hit from behind, I don't believe a penalty was called.

Talk about protecting players, one has to wonder how that hit that combined charging and boarding did not draw a penalty of any kind.

Important "character" game for both teams tonight.

I figure you play all 32 teams in one night and reffing will get pretty watered down in quality. Seemed like a call that any minor league ref wouldn’t ignore.

Loved the staggered starts though. Was great jumping around to all 16 games as periods concluded.

Something tells me Buchnevich is going off tonight.

Thanks Trevor!

It's odd that the league never looked at that Vesey hit after handing out a pretty hefty suspension to Ras for something less dangerous. I guess as it was not the end of the game and Ruzy does not sell seats, the hit was less dangerous.

Still getting the WIDEMAN treatment all these years later!!!!

Zadorov has been the best Flame this season. Why have they not started talking an extension with him yet?

Wow! There is something seriously broken with this team. We all thought it was Sutter, but here we go again. Don’t sign anyone, wait and see where they’re at by the trade deadline.

The play needs to be trading Hani and Lindy with 50% salary retention to maximize the return.
This team has not been good enough for years and the goal should be to rebuild with the opening of the new arena in mind.
Celebrini or Eiserman are within reach!

Flames lose 3-0 to the Blues, Oilers lose 3-0 to the Rangers. Oh boy this Heritage Classic is going to be interesting!

The owners need to have some sort of out clause from these horrific contracts. A fan base and franchise should not be doomed for the foreseeable future because a GM tries to save his own skin. Pathetic.

Not that this is all on Tre. It’s 90% on Edwards just wantinh to make the playoffs every year.

So bad Treliving ran for the exit before the ink dried. No doubt Edwards had a hand in this.

How is it that every other team in the league can find one guy to be open on the powerplay? He sits on the faceoff circle (either side), stick up and ready to shoot at the net.
Ovechkin has scored 500 goals from that spot. Everyone knows that's where he will be, but he still gets 500 goals.

The Flames put Kadri on the red line 90 degrees from the net and close to the corner. Kadri out-shot McDavid in the All-Star accuracy shooting. How about he plays in, oh I don't know, Ovechkin's favorite spot?
They put Huberdeau on the other side and he SUCKS at puck retrival. No one goes to the front of the net as a screen, so the defense has to pass. They like the cute three-way pass from behind the net to the front, in close, when that's EXACTLY WHERE THE DEFENDERS ALL COLLAPSE DOWN TO.

I though Savard was going to be creative and original with the PP this year. Is this what he's come up with, or are the players just too dense to get the more complicated scheme?

I saw two periods (almost) of that trainwreck last night and then switched it off. I'm ready for a rebuild, even if it does take 8 - 10 years. They can't keep trotting out that crap every game.

Branstrom and Chabot both hurt last night...... Can we interest you in a Noah Hanifin for your two 1st round picks Pierre?

Ya, no one is giving up 2 1sts for a player on the last year of his deal who has stated a desire to play in the states unless they're a contender at the deadline. Also Ott already has Sanderson and Chychrun playing top 4 LD. Plus they don't have the cap space to sign Pinto to a $1M deal let alone Hanifin and his $4.95M deal.

Calgary could retain 50% of that 4.95 to increase the interest and return.

OTT has $42,568 of cap space. They can't afford even half of Hanifins contract. They're already going to have to do something creative to get space for 2 more defencemen. Probably put Chabot on LTIR and call up 2 minimum wage kids from the AHL so they can be returned when Chabot gets healthy just to remain cap compliant. But they can't afford to add any salary because they won't be compliant when Chabot gets healthy.

Well aware of the league CAP issues but where there's a will there's a way. I just threw Ott out there as they had some injuries but my point really is dont sign the pending UFA' and go get some picks.
