By the end of regulation, Vegas had only taken 19 shots.
That’s only about 3 less than Cliffy has..

but those who are on team tank are all over social media claiming that Monahan and Matheson should be traded now.
Karine....these people don't sound very smart! Can't rebuild with ONKY kids. You need guys like this through and through. I wouldn't be opposed to resigning Monahan. He's amazing. |

Nice coverage or recap of a pretty solid effort. VGK's might have believed this was going to be an easy win, and they clearly did not bring their best effort. The Habs deserved the win, but alas it was not to be.
Do nothing with Slaf......other than keep playing him. OK, maybe tell him to shoot more often, but for Gods sake do not send him down the the A.....just be patient with him.
The defence is looking and maturing as projected. The Habs are going to have some really good D-men in a year or two..... |

Excellent recap Karine.
Our young defense is playing well, Monahan was a monster yesterday (over 80% in the faceoffs circle!!) and Montembeault was solid when he needed to be.
I remember we were at the same point last year with Money. The man can obviously help this team, he's young enough to still be effective in 3-4 years when we can compete but his health remains a concern.
If he stays healthy all year, they'll have to make that call near the deadline and consider how much it would cost to keep him vs the potential return. I trust Hughes will make the right call on this. |

patience is something Habs fans struggle with when it comes to young players. Slaf will take 3-4 years to get up to speed and be a real top 6 for MTL. As I heard before, let him cook slowly, keep coaching him, let him play and develop at the NHL level. |

It's fine. He'll go 20 games without a point soon and all will be right with the world. |

Well he is not lacking talent, but he also wasn't worth the cost. It is early, he will slow down his scoring, and become exactly what he is.....an above average top six forward. |
