What! Jordan Greenway on the 1st line. Who’s this Morgan Frost guy playing twice in a row?

With his faceoff performance the other night, why is he playing?

Because Laughton has stapled himself to the Wells Fargo floor. He refuses to stand.

THE FLYERS AREN’T TRYING TO TRADE FROST
THE ATHLETIC: Kevin Kurz reports a league source informed him that the Philadelphia Flyers aren’t trying to trade Morgan Frost. The 24-year-old forward was a healthy scratch for six straight games before returning to the lineup on Monday.
Kurz indicates that Frost handled being scratched the right way and has been a good teammate throughout that period. The Flyers still view him as one of the young players they want to grow with this rebuilding team. They will give him every opportunity to become a productive player.
SPECTOR’S NOTE: Frost is in the first season of a two-year, $4.2 million contract. He enjoyed a career-best 46-point performance last season. Kurz acknowledged that things could change but for now, the Flyers have no intention of moving Frost.
I am definitely in the camp of Frost needs to be here and play. He needs to be given the opportunity to be creative, and not dwell on mistakes. I think he is a perfect talent for the second line, once Cutter and MM arrive.

So you are going to embarrass yourself yet again and tell everyone here that Frost is fine on faceoffs? That he has nothing to improve upon? Let's see, 3 games, 0 points and a 29 percent FO% .. hmmm ... ya ... he is perfectly fine. Oh! That's right. We have a new excuse for Frosty .. sample size ... of course ... forgot about that one. |

So Kurz contradicts himself in his own article? A league source says the Flyers are trying trade Frost but then acknowledges the Flyers have no intention of moving Frost. Ya, this guy is a credible source! |

I'll post it again, Briere should have traded Laughton this past off-season when his value would never be higher. With Couts and Cam coming back, Frost resigned, Staal and Hathaway signed and a commitment to play the kids, there was absolutely nothing to gain by keeping Laughton around. This team has more than enough "veteran" leadership. |

No contradiction. |

What crawled up your ass about Frost?
I will give every playe4 a pass on the first game or two of the season.
In the third game I thought he played really well besides the face offs. I am curious to see how other centers have done when going against Staal.
Frost played better than the guy that he replaced. |

LOL.
Yep, you used 3 games as proof he was regressing over the course of THREE seasons. even though he markedly improved over the course of last season.
Not once did anyone say Frost was fine on faceoffs. NOT...ONCE.
We just simply wont stand for this kind of disingenuous behavior from you. (see what I did there?)

Time for Frost to get on the board tonight. Getting tired of hearing about how great he is playing and yet I see goose eggs in the scoring column. You don't get style points! Time to put up or shut up cause Torts is watchin you! |

This is exactly it. A perfect example. He leads the team in scoring over a 56 game period. For those that don't know, that means that he scored more points over that stretch of games than any other player on the team. He led the team for the entire season in even strength points last season. For those of you who don't know, that means that he scored more points than any other player on the team at ES last season. Yet, you're tired of seeing goose eggs in the scoring column and you don't get style points. Time to put up or shut up. Interesting and comical at the same time.

Flyers' Rasmus Ristolainen: Dealing with minor injury
Rotowire OCT 5, 2023
Ristolainen is dealing with a minor undisclosed injury and will not play Thursday versus the Islanders, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
Why do the Flyers do this to themselves?? |

He was far better in that period than he has been since last spring. He just needs to keep his legs moving. His defensive side of the game is fine and who cares about draws this early in his career.. have him move in w selke and they can practice faceoffs in his basement. the guy is going to be a good middle six, creative player which is exactly what this team needs.

Unfortunately, we still had numbnuts as our gm at the deadline.

I like Frost, I just can't stand the people on this forum constantly making excuses for him. I can't even compliment him while also raising a concern that he is not good on faceoffs. Some people on here go ballistic if you say anything negative about the sacred cow. I have stated many times Frost should not have been taken out of the lineup, that it seems there is something personal there between Torts and Frost and that his 3rd period the other night was nothing short of dazzling. But yet I criticize one aspect of this game and people get all up and arms about it. Geez ... |
