Ben Shelley: Islanders’ skid extends to four games after losing 4-1 to Capitals

The road to below .500 begins tonight. I hope I am wrong but it does not look promising. The team will be 19 games in at the completion of the trip. It will be one game less than a quarter of the season.

Last season they were 12-8 at the quarter mark.

If I were coach, I would play Martin........ and sit Lee who I think has been playing worse. But other than that tweak, I like these changes. Fasching has played OK.......but just OK.

Edit: On 2nd thought, I"m thinking Lee will be inspired, seeing Schwein in the arena, wearing his jersey.

Fasching is not good enough and can be a 4th line fill in. Wally needs to stay in the lineup unless he is really struggling. Lee has probably been worse, but he is tougher to sit.
